East and west zones
Dayang Ancient Town is in Dayang Town, Zezhou County, Jincheng. The attraction has a paid exhibition zone in the east and free old streets in the west. Navigate to “Dayang Ancient Town Scenic Area” or the Visitor Centre for the east zone, or to “Dayang Ancient Town West Exit” for the west streets. The entrances lead to different content.
Allow about 1.5–2 hours for the old streets and photographs. The east exhibitions, streets, tower, and night scene take about 3–4 hours together; a full-day visit is possible. Free entry to the west covers public old-street space only. The Town History Museum, Zhang Family Residence, Ancient Method Ironmaking Museum, and other east-zone halls remain subject to their own admission rules.
Tickets and opening hours
The east-zone joint ticket is about RMB 60 per person and may include the Town History Museum, Ancient Method Ironmaking Museum, Zhang Family Residence, Wanli Tea Road Museum, and Traditional Woodworking Museum. The west old streets are free. Students and visitors aged 60–65 pay half price with the required documents; visitors aged 65 or above are free. Confirm the exact terms at the ticket counter.
Dayang Ancient Town normally does not require a reservation. It is open Monday to Sunday from 09:00–20:30, while east-zone exhibition halls generally close around 17:00. Night lighting and the iron-flower show may change, so use the Visitor Centre notice when planning evening activities.

Tangdi Temple, Zhang Family Residence, and ironmaking
Tangdi Temple is a national-level protected heritage site. Its main hall is a Yuan-dynasty building with a roof frame made from a single Jing tree trunk about 20 metres long. Zhang Family Residence is one of the town's larger Ming–Qing courtyard groups, with brick, wood, and stone carvings to observe. The Ancient Method Ironmaking Museum presents Dayang's history of ironmaking and needle production.
Five-li Old Street and its 72 lanes retain traces of Ming–Qing buildings, the wood market, and the flower market. They reward an unhurried walk. Visitors interested in history, architecture, photography, or everyday life in a northern town can split the west streets and east exhibitions into two half-day sections.
Night streets and iron-flower
Late-afternoon light suits photographs of the west zone's bluestone roads. The old stage in front of Tangdi Temple and ordinary street scenes work well for documentary-style images. After 19:00, the lanterns change the atmosphere. An intangible-heritage iron-flower show may take place near the Visitor Centre around 19:30, but it may be delayed or cancelled.
Dayang's iron-flower show is a town activity. It is arranged separately from “Millennium Iron Soul” in Situ Town's performance pass and from possible night activities in Guoyu Ancient City. Whether it runs, whether there is a charge, the viewing area, and the dispersal time all follow the programme for the day.

About 1.5–2 hours: short route
Enter through the east-zone Visitor Centre, start with the Town History Museum, then visit Zhang Family Residence. Walk west along Five-li Old Street to Tangdi Temple, and leave through the free west exit. This short route keeps an exhibition, courtyard residence, old street, and protected temple in one sequence.
The east exhibition halls close around 17:00, so put them first if you arrive in the afternoon. The west old streets can continue within the open areas after the halls close. The exit, parking area, and return stop may not be in the same place; confirm the direction on the day's guide before leaving.
About 3–4 hours: highlights route
Enter from the free west entrance and explore Five-li Old Street and the 72 lanes first. Visit Tangdi Temple, then continue into the east zone for the Ancient Method Ironmaking Museum, Town History Museum, and Zhang Family Residence. If Tianzhu Pagoda is open for climbing, add it in the afternoon, then return to the old streets for the lit evening view.
Include the iron-flower show around 19:30 only after confirming it is running that day. Ask near the Visitor Centre about the viewing area. After the show, leave via the west exit, east Visitor Centre, or car park according to your actual location; night access and return transport need separate checks.
Get there
Driving and parking
The drive from central Jincheng takes about 30–60 minutes. Navigate to “Dayang Ancient Town Car Park”; official parking is about RMB 10 per visit. Near the west exit, use a free parking area only where the on-site signs direct you. Enter from the west if you want the old streets first, or go to the east Visitor Centre for the exhibitions.
The east and west zones are a long walk apart. If your car is parked on one side, plan the exit around that location. Use a clearly marked official parking area, confirm the charge before parking, and enter or leave through the east or west zone according to your route.
Public transport
From Jincheng Coach East Station, take Tourist Line 14 to Dayang Ancient Town. The current unified fare is RMB 1. Check the departure times and stops in the bus notice for the day. If public transport is inconvenient, arrange the return time and drop-off entrance when booking a car or taxi.
Dayang Ancient Town works best as a full-day destination. Jade Emperor Temple, Qinglian Temple, and Xicheng Mountain are farther away and are better treated as separate days. Move between the east zone, west zone, and night streets according to their individual open status.

Exhibition closing and performances
The east joint ticket is about RMB 60, while the west old streets are free. Free entry to the old streets does not include the paid halls; when buying, check whether the Town History Museum, Ironmaking Museum, Zhang Family Residence, and other halls are included in the joint ticket. Exhibition halls generally close around 17:00, so the 20:30 overall opening time mainly refers to the night street period.
The iron-flower show may start around 19:30, or may be delayed or cancelled. Check the day's arrangement at the Visitor Centre rather than waiting for an old time found online. Follow the event's instructions for clothing, sparks, and evacuation space; its ticket treatment is separate from Situ Town's performance pass.
Lanes, parking, and food
The old town's stone streets, narrow lanes, and exhibition-hall steps require walking. Wear comfortable shoes and watch the signs, since the west and east zones have different exits. After the lights come on, people and vehicles may increase; stand on an open side of the street when taking photographs.
Dayang-style pork liver, zhuan noodles, suancai hudou, and stir-fried liangfen are local options. Judge prices and taste at the individual restaurant. Official parking is about RMB 10 per visit; if a surrounding parking point has unclear charges or receipts, choose another area so it does not delay your departure.
