Entrance, tickets and capacity limits

Jinhua Shuanglong Scenic Tourism Area is in Luodian Town, Wucheng District, Jinhua, Zhejiang. Common navigation destinations are “Shuanglong Scenic Tourism Area Visitor Centre” and “Shuanglong Cave”. The scenic area has several entrances; first-time visitors usually begin around the visitor centre or Shuanglong Cave.

The reference adult ticket is CNY 80. For Shuanglong Cave, buy online first, then check in and take a number at the visitor centre or the Erxian Cave information point before entering in batches. Reference opening hours are 08:00–17:00. Shuanglong Cave has a capacity limit; holiday queues may exceed one hour, and some caves may close temporarily because of weather or maintenance.

How much time to allow

Seeing only Shuanglong Cave and Binghu Cave takes about 2–3 hours. Allow 4–5 hours if you also want to visit Xianpu Cave, Lünü Lake and other areas. The site suits visitors interested in caves, mountains and natural scenery, and it also offers lighter valley walks.

The area includes shuttle buses, cave stairs and wet surfaces, so stamina matters more than the map distance alone. With older adults or children, first confirm whether they can use the lying-down boat to enter Shuanglong Cave, then choose the route.

Choose your visit

Shuanglong Cave, Binghu Cave and Xianpu Cave

Entering Shuanglong Cave requires lying flat in a low boat, which staff pull into the cave. The posture and confined space make it a specialised experience. Binghu Cave is connected to Shuanglong Cave and allows visitors to continue observing the underground water scenery. Xianpu Cave has more stairs and suits visitors with stronger stamina.

Lünü Lake is higher in the scenic area and works as a rest and viewpoint stop on a mountain route. Shuanglong Creek Gorge is outside the paid scenic area and can be used as a lighter walk if you do not enter the paid caves. Confirm the opening status, shuttle arrangements and weather conditions for each area separately.

Who it suits

Visitors interested in caves, geological landscapes, forest walks and family learning can choose a short or fuller route according to their stamina. If you want to avoid queues inside the caves, you can walk only around Shuanglong Creek Gorge, but it has a different entrance and management boundary from the paid scenic area.

Visitors with limited mobility, a fear of slippery surfaces or difficulty with the low-boat posture should prioritise outdoor scenery and a shorter route. With children, read the entrance requirements before joining the queue.

Build your day

A 2–3 hour Shuanglong Cave route

Take the scenic shuttle from the visitor centre to Shuanglong Cave Station. Walk to the cave entrance, check in and take a number, enter Shuanglong Cave in the assigned batch, continue to Binghu Cave and then return by shuttle. Queue times change daily, so do not plan the return from the cave-visit time alone.

Shuanglong Cave and Binghu Cave may have dripping water and slippery surfaces. Wear shoes with good grip and slow down. If a side cave such as Taoyuan Cave is temporarily closed, finish at the open areas rather than changing the safety plan to complete every point.

A 4–5 hour mountain route

With good stamina, visit Xianpu Cave on the upper mountain first and work downward. Then take the scenic shuttle to Lünü Lake, continue through Erxian Cave and finish at Shuanglong Cave and Binghu Cave. Xianpu Cave has many stairs, so put it earlier while the group still has energy.

This route depends on the day’s shuttle operation and the opening status of each area. At every stop, confirm the next shuttle and walking direction. If waiting or queueing takes too long, remove one side cave or shorten the lakeside stop.

A light walk at Shuanglong Creek Gorge

If you are not entering the paid caves, navigate to the area near the old Shuanglong Power Station and walk about 3–4 km along the creek, usually taking around two hours. How level the route feels depends on the weather and ground conditions; after rain, check whether the creekside path is suitable before continuing.

Shuanglong Creek Gorge does not include Shuanglong Cave or Binghu Cave and has no lying-down boat experience. Confirm parking, the return route and mobile signal before setting out, then return to the vehicle along the planned route.

Get there

Bus and visitor centre

From central Jinhua, take Y3 bus toward the Shuanglong Cave scenic area. First-time visitors should go to the Shuanglong Scenic Tourism Area Visitor Centre to complete ticketing, check-in and shuttle arrangements before choosing the mountain route.

Allow waiting time for the return public transport. The scenic area’s entrances are also separated from one another. If the final leg requires a ride-hailing car or taxi, confirm the pick-up direction at the visitor centre below the mountain.

Driving and weekend traffic controls

On a weekday, drivers can navigate to an upper parking area if the day’s access allows it. On weekends and holidays, traffic controls may require you to park around the visitor centre and use the scenic shuttle uphill. Whether a private car can reach a particular upper parking area depends on the day’s on-site directions.

Note the vehicle position and the direction back down after parking. Do not estimate the return only from the map: shuttle queues, cave capacity limits and holiday traffic can all lengthen the exit.

Know before you go

Lying-down boat, queues and closed areas

The lying-down boat into Shuanglong Cave requires a particular posture and confined space. Older adults, young children and visitors with limited mobility should observe the actual conditions first. Shuanglong Cave admits visitors in batches; holiday queues may be long, and a successful online booking still requires on-site check-in and taking a number.

Some cave sections have dripping water and slippery ground. Side caves such as Taoyuan Cave may close because of weather or maintenance. Follow the open route and do not enter barriers or unsafe wet areas.

Shoes, weather and supplies

Humidity and temperature in the caves and mountain routes vary with the outside weather. Wear shoes with good grip and bring a light jacket. Supplies on the mountain are limited, so carry water and a small amount of food, and schedule rests on the stair route to Xianpu Cave.

Shuttle buses, parking and food may all involve queues during holidays. If anyone becomes tired or the weather changes, shorten the route and prioritise going downhill instead of delaying the return to see every cave.
