Plan at a glance
Location and entry
Jixi Zoological and Botanical Garden is at 43 Xiangnan Street in Jiguan District. The usual entry is the main gate. The garden is built on sloping ground, so visiting the animal areas, flower garden, and children's amusement area involves uphill and downhill walking.
Tickets, paid attractions, and opening hours may change. Check the garden's notice at the main gate on the day of your visit for the adult ticket, paid attraction tickets, reservation requirement, last entry, and any concessions.
How much time to allow
A short visit of about one hour can cover the Bird Garden, the children's amusement area, and the flower garden. Allow about two to three hours for a fuller circuit that also includes the large-animal areas, Swan Lake, and the other sections.
Your time will depend on which facilities are open and how long you wait. If you are not planning to use the rides, keep the children's area brief.

Animal areas
The Bird Garden is the main bird area, with peacocks, black swans, parrots, and other birds. Separate large-animal areas include lions and black bears. The animals on display and access to individual enclosures may change, so check the day's arrangement after entering.
If controlled feeding or close interaction is offered that day, join only under staff supervision. Do not assume a particular species or interaction will be available.
Flower garden and children's area
The flower garden is most rewarding in summer. In early spring or autumn, adjust expectations to the seasonal flower display and use it as a shorter photo stop if needed.
The children's amusement area has rides such as a carousel and a small train. Ride operation and maintenance can change; families planning around one attraction should check the notice inside the garden.
Build your day
About one hour: a short route
From the main gate, follow the main path to the Bird Garden, continue to the children's amusement area, and finish at the flower garden for a short walk or photographs. The route takes about one hour and suits visitors who want a quick mix of birds, family facilities, and flowers.
The short route is on foot and includes slopes and steps. A stroller can be difficult to push; confirm the usable route before travelling with a young child.
About two to three hours: a full circuit
Start with the lion and black-bear areas, then walk to the flower garden and Swan Lake for a pause. Continue to the Bird Garden and leave time for the children's amusement area at the end. The full circuit takes about two to three hours and combines animals, plants, and family facilities.
After the final stop, follow the garden signs to the exit that is open that day.
Get there
Address and public transport
Set navigation to 43 Xiangnan Street, Jiguan District, Jixi, and enter through the main gate. Bus routes to the garden are limited and service may be infrequent, so arrange both the outbound and return trips before setting out.
Check the current stop names and bus times on the day. A taxi or private car is usually simpler; confirm the parking area and available spaces on arrival.
Return arrangements
Because bus service is limited, check the return timetable before you start the visit. A taxi or private car makes the return easier, but agree on a pickup point with the driver if you expect to leave late.
Know before you go
Tickets and opening hours
Opening hours, last entry, and the way adult tickets and paid attractions are charged may change. Check the same-day gate notice before entering, and confirm the eligibility and required documents for children and other concession tickets at the ticket desk. The basic admission ticket may not include the children's rides.
Slopes and animal interaction
The garden is on a hillside with many slopes and steps, and a stroller can be difficult to use. Visitors with young children or limited mobility should ask about usable paths, ramps, and any shuttle service before choosing a route.
Do not feed animals with your own food, cross barriers, tap on glass, or chase the animals. Feeding and close interaction are allowed only when the garden has opened them that day and staff are present. Watch children closely and wash hands as instructed.
