How to Visit
1

Set the right expectation

This is a modern Buddhist sculpture park, not an ancient cave-temple site like the Giant Buddha itself.

Tip:It works best if you enjoy large-scale sculpture and quiet walking.
2

Follow the one-way sculpture route

Use the signed route through the reclining Buddha, arhat caves, underground halls, thousand-hand Guanyin, and Southeast Asian-style sections.

Tip:The route has steps and slopes.
3

Use the cave halls for a slower visit

The large cave and underground spaces are cooler and more atmospheric than the open paths, especially in hot weather.

Tip:Respect no-photo signs around active worship images.
4

Pair it with the Giant Buddha only if you have energy

The west-side connection can link toward the Giant Buddha area, but doing both fully in one day involves a lot of walking.

Tip:Choose one main site if traveling with older visitors.
Highlights
  • Large modern Buddhist sculpture park beside the Giant Buddha area
  • Reclining Buddha, cave halls, arhat sections, and hillside paths
  • Quieter alternative or add-on to the crowded Giant Buddha route
  • Useful in summer because cave sections are cooler
  • Good for travelers interested in Buddhist art spaces rather than only heritage age
Insider Tips

Do not visit expecting ancient UNESCO-level carvings throughout.

Wear comfortable shoes for steps and slopes.

A guide can help explain the many Buddhist figures if you are interested.

Use it after the Giant Buddha only if queues did not drain your day.

Bring water; the route is longer than a quick temple stop.
