Location, ticket and opening arrangements
Yuwan Scenic Area (渔湾风景区) is in Yuwan Village, Yuntai Subdistrict, Haizhou District. The main entrance can be found by navigating to “Yuwan Scenic Area”. The daytime adult ticket costs CNY 40; online tickets may be slightly cheaper. Children under 1.4 metres, students and visitors aged 60–69 may receive half-price or discounted admission under the day's policy. The listed daytime schedule from July 15 to August 31 is 08:00–17:30, with last entry at 17:30 and clearance from 18:00. A summer night programme may include steel-flower performances and water-screen shows; the night programme is not open every day, and its performance time and ticket price can change with the day's operation.
How much time to allow
Allow 1–2 hours for a family water-play route and 2–4 hours if you continue past the Upper Stairway (上天梯) to the mountain reservoir. The area follows a stream valley with stone steps and pools. Non-slip shoes are more useful here than a stroller.

Old Dragon Pool and the stream valley
Old Dragon Pool (Laolongtan, 老龙潭) is the main waterfall. Nine-hole Bridge, Lotus Pond and Three Dragon Pool follow the main path. The section below the Upper Stairway is relatively gentle, with shallow pools suitable for family water play. After rain, the waterfalls are fuller, and a rainbow may appear near Old Dragon Pool in sunny conditions.
Photography and the mountain reservoir
The area in front of Old Dragon Pool is a clear photography position. The reservoir near the top has a wider view and gives the route a different ending. Yuwan suits families, couples and groups of friends who want to play in the water, as well as visitors who prefer a shorter nature walk.
Build your day
A 1–2 hour family route
Enter from the main gate and follow the main path through Nine-hole Bridge, Lotus Pond, Three Dragon Pool and Old Dragon Pool. Play in the water or take photographs below the Upper Stairway, then return the way you came. The stone and water surfaces can be slippery, so do not continue uphill if the children or the group are already tired.
A 2–4 hour standard route
Follow the main path through Nine-hole Bridge, Three Dragon Pool and Old Dragon Pool. Climb the 168-step Upper Stairway, continue to the mountain reservoir and descend by the other route. Visitors with limited energy can turn back at the Upper Stairway; the main waterfalls and pools are already covered.
The summer night programme
If a night programme is running, separate the daytime route from the evening event and allow time for daytime clearance, night entry and the return journey. Steel flowers and water-screen shows are seasonal rather than year-round fixtures, so use the day's ticketing information when planning.
Get there
Bus, driving and parking
Drivers can navigate to Yuwan Scenic Area; the underground car park is listed at about CNY 15 per visit. City buses include You 5, You 8 and Tourist Shuttle Line 5. From Lianyungang Railway Station or Lianyungang East Railway Station, Tourist Shuttle Line 5 is a practical option when it is running.
Combining Yuwan with Huaguo Mountain
A free shuttle may connect Yuwan and Huaguo Mountain, but the timetable needs to be confirmed at the time of travel. If you visit both on one day, set the order around the closing time of one of them and arrange the transfer before the day's final hours.
Know before you go
Shoes, clothes and children's equipment
The steps can be wet and slippery, especially after water play. Wear river shoes or sports shoes rather than sandals. Bring spare clothes, a towel and simple water-play equipment. Mosquito repellent is useful in the mountain area, and a stroller is not practical on the stone-step route.
Clearance and on-site spending
Daytime clearance begins at 18:00, so work back from that time after visiting Old Dragon Pool or the Upper Stairway. Drinks and snacks inside the scenic area can be expensive; prepare some before entering. Linglongju Theme Restaurant and Yulou Restaurant are listed nearby dining options.
Crowds and weather
Summer weekend afternoons are busy, especially around the water-play areas. After rain, both the waterfall volume and the condition of the path change. Adjust the decision to continue to the Upper Stairway or reservoir to the day's weather.
