Log-built homes and the village entrance marker
Beihong Village lies north of Arctic Village and is often described as China's northernmost village. Log-built houses, firewood stacks and courtyards shape its rural scenery, while the stone marker at the village entrance serves as a landmark. Stay on public roads and do not enter residents' yards or interrupt their daily routines.
The Heilongjiang River and the village lookout
You can take in the border river from publicly accessible areas along the Heilongjiang River. The lookout offers broad views over the village and river bend, particularly around sunset. Check the lookout's access and fee on site. Take photos only in permitted public areas, away from fences and restricted zones.
Morning scenery and local food
Walk along public roads in the morning; whether mist forms over the river depends on the weather. You can also stroll through open areas in the evening. Dining choices are limited, so ask your lodging host which restaurants or bakeries are open that day.

A short village walk
Start at the stone marker by the village entrance, follow the main road into the village, walk to an open area by the river and return to the entrance or your lodging. Allow about one to two hours. Use only public roads and clearly open areas, and stay away from border fences and restricted zones.
An overnight stay
After arriving in the afternoon, check in first and take a walk along public roads at dusk. If the lookout is open that day, visit according to its on-site rules. The next morning, explore the village and river, then return to your lodging for your bags before leaving by bus. Confirm your departure in advance rather than rushing straight to the pickup point at dawn.
Connecting with nearby stops
Beihong Village is often combined with Arctic Village and the First Bend of the Heilongjiang River in a chartered-car itinerary; all three require road travel between them. Include the First Bend's combined ticket and visit time in the plan. Beihong Village itself is free.

By bus from Mohe or Arctic Village
A direct bus runs from Mohe's coach station to Beihong Village. The listed fare is about CNY 30, and the journey takes about two and a half hours. A bus between Arctic Village and Beihong Village has a listed fare of about CNY 25–30 and takes about an hour and a half. By chartered car, parking and walking
A chartered or shared car from Mohe or Arctic Village makes it easier to combine nearby stops, especially if you are continuing to the First Bend. The village is small enough to explore mostly on foot. Drivers can park in a guesthouse courtyard or an open area in the village; do not block residents' entrances.

Bus seats in Beihong Village are limited. After arriving, ask your driver or lodging host about the return departure, ticket-purchase method and boarding point. If you are staying overnight, confirm your departure date and time. If traveling by chartered car, agree on the pickup point, waiting time and next stop.
Rules in the border area
Along the Heilongjiang River and around the border, stay within areas open to visitors and follow staff instructions. Do not approach border fences, photograph outposts or other military facilities, fly a drone or cross the border. Remain in public areas where access is permitted.
