The core village and entry procedure
China Snow Town is in Shuangfeng Forest Farm, Changting Town, Hailin. The scenic area has one main gate. After arrival, transfer to the scenic-area bus to enter the core area; Xueyun Street, the Bangchui Mountain boardwalk and the village shops are mainly explored on foot.
Tickets and lighting time
The main admission ticket is about CNY 155 per person and includes the scenic-area bus. Dream Home costs about CNY 95; outer projects such as Datudingzi Mountain are paid separately. All-day access to the core area and the winter night lights, which commonly come on around 16:30–17:00, are separate considerations. Confirm the day's activities and ticket arrangements before departure.

Snow mushrooms and Xueyun Street
The “snow mushrooms” formed by snow piled on rooftops are Snow Town's main natural sight. Xueyun Street gathers red lanterns, wooden houses and shops along one pedestrian street. Daylight is best for the shapes of the snow and architectural details; after the lights come on, return to the same street for its night view.
The Bangchui Mountain boardwalk and Dream Home
The Bangchui Mountain boardwalk is free. It climbs from the “Fairy-Tale World” entrance beside Xueyun Street and overlooks the whole village. Early morning is quieter and the snow is usually less disturbed, making it a good time to photograph the snow mushrooms. Dream Home has a concentrated display of snow mushrooms but requires a separate ticket; add it if you want close-up decorated scenes and another viewing angle.
For first-time visitors to Snow Town
Visitors interested in snow photography, family trips or a first look at the snow-covered Northeast can make the street and boardwalk the main route. Those who enjoy folk displays can add the Snow Town Museum and Snow Post Office. This is a commercial winter town, so expect accommodation, meals and evening activities to vary in price and experience with the snow conditions and holiday atmosphere.
For Datudingzi Mountain and other outer-area winter routes, see Snow Town National Forest Park.
Build your day
The 2–3-hour core route
After transferring to the bus, enter the core area and walk along Xueyun Street, viewing the snow mushrooms and red lanterns on both sides. Then climb the Bangchui Mountain boardwalk from the “Fairy-Tale World” entrance, take in the village panorama and return to the main street. With limited time, reaching the first viewing platform is enough.
The approximately 4-hour highlights route
Start with Xueyun Street and the Bangchui Mountain boardwalk, then buy a Dream Home ticket if wanted. Return to the main street at dusk and wait for the lights, while checking whether there will be a yangko parade, snow activities or fireworks that day. The yangko parade around 19:00 and the snow activities and fireworks around 19:30–20:10 are reference time windows only, not year-round guarantees.
A photography sequence from morning to night
From 07:00–09:00, photograph the quieter main street, cooking smoke and close-ups of the snow mushrooms. In the afternoon, focus on red-lantern and wooden-house details; after dark, go to the boardwalk for the illuminated panorama. If you also want to join evening activities, arrange Dream Home and your meal earlier in the day.
Get there
From Harbin or Mudanjiang
Direct buses run near Harbin's Central Street and take about 5–6 hours. Another option is to travel first to Yabuli West Station, then transfer to a bus or chartered car for about 1.5 hours. A chartered or shared car from Harbin or Mudanjiang gives you more flexibility. There is no metro service to the scenic area.
Bus transfer and parking
Private cars must stay in the car park outside the main gate and cannot enter the core village. The free bus after the gate takes about 10 minutes to the core area. The street, boardwalk and village sights require walking; on snow, set your pace according to your footwear's grip and the day's ground conditions.
Know before you go
Accommodation and meals
During peak season, rooms in the core area can cost over CNY 1,000, while room quality, soundproofing, cleanliness and heating vary considerably. Nearby villages such as Erlanghe are often more suitable for an overnight stay. Food in the core village can be expensive. Consider eating in nearby villages or before entering, and carry some snacks and a hot drink.
Low temperatures, snow and activities
Open areas feel especially cold at night. Bring a warm hat, gloves and non-slip winter shoes. Follow the on-site opening and safety instructions for icy roads, slides and outdoor activities. Lighting, yangko performances, fireworks, transfers and road conditions change with the season, so confirm the current arrangements before leaving.
Separate tickets for Snow Town National Forest Park
China Snow Town and Xueyun Street form one core-village entry experience, while Dream Home requires a separate ticket. Datudingzi Mountain, the Ice and Snow Gallery and other sites belong to the outer area of Snow Town National Forest Park; confirm their tickets, transfers and operating conditions separately. The Snow Town main admission ticket does not provide access to every attraction in the wider area.
