Address and venue layout

Xinao Underwater World (新澳海底世界) is at 81 Hebin Road in Haigang District, Qinhuangdao. The aquarium and dolphin performance hall (海豚表演馆) are separate venues. A typical indoor visit takes about 2–3 hours. Allow 3–4 hours if you want to see several shows and visit the second-floor light-and-scene area.

Tickets and entry times

Adult tickets are about RMB 110–130. Children under 1.2 m and visitors over 70 are generally admitted free. No separate reservation is required; present the QR code and valid identification requested by your order. International visitors should confirm with the ticketing channel how to purchase and verify tickets using a passport. In July and August, the venue is open about 8:10 am–6:00 pm; in the shoulder season, about 8:40 am–5:30 pm, with last entry at 4:30 pm. Hours and show schedules vary by season.

Underwater tunnel and jellyfish gallery

The 270-degree underwater tunnel is a main highlight, with sharks, sea turtles, and rays swimming overhead. There are also jellyfish tanks on the first floor. Visitors interested in marine life can start with the tunnel and jellyfish area; the viewing pace is steady and suits families.

Light scenes and performances

The second floor has themed light installations such as Mengjing Weinisi (梦境威尼斯), Aiqinhai zhi Meng (爱琴海之梦), and Tonghua Jiana (童话戛纳), as well as a robot fairy-tale show. Dolphin and sea lion performances take place in a separate dolphin theater. Xinao works well as a 2–4 hour indoor marine-life visit.

Build your day

About two hours

Enter the aquarium and take the escalator to the second-floor themed light area. Then go down to the first floor for the underwater tunnel and jellyfish tanks, followed by the separate dolphin theater. This route focuses on the light scenes, tunnel, and one animal show. Check the day's performance schedule for showtimes.

A full 3–4 hour visit

After entering, photograph the official show schedule. Plan the underwater tunnel, jellyfish area, mermaid show, and dolphin or sea lion performances around the listed times; visit the second-floor light area between shows. Arrive 20–30 minutes early for popular performances to find seats. Moving between the venues and waiting for shows adds to the visit time.

On-site sequence and photography

If a theater show starts before you have time to visit the light area, see the show first and return upstairs afterward. In the underwater tunnel, use a phone's live-photo mode or a long exposure and wait for a shark or ray to pass before shooting upward. The jellyfish tanks work well for close-ups.

Get there

Bus and walk

Take bus 19 to the “Qinhuang International Hotel” stop (秦皇国际大酒店), then walk about 400 m to the venue. Navigate to 81 Hebin Road. The aquarium and dolphin theater (海豚表演馆) have separate entrances; on a first visit, enter through the main gate and follow the signs between venues.

Driving and nearby stops

Paid parking is available; in peak season, check space at the lot when you arrive. The beach is just outside, so you can take a coastal walk after your visit. West Port Garden (西港花园) and Golden Dream Bay (金梦海湾) are also nearby. If you have a show booked, finish the aquarium visit before deciding whether to add another stop.

Know before you go

Ticket prices and last entry

Adult tickets are about RMB 110–130. Children under 1.2 m and visitors over 70 are generally admitted free. Online combination tickets may be discounted; check which venues they include. Last entry in the shoulder season is 4:30 pm. Peak-season and shoulder-season hours differ, so do not use closing time alone to decide when to arrive.

Shows and queues

Performance times vary by season. Photograph the official schedule after entering and arrive 20–30 minutes before the shows you want. Dolphin and sea lion performances, mermaid shows, and robot shows follow the day's program. Popular areas may fill early when visitor numbers are high.

Extra costs and indoor conditions

Feeding sea turtles or seals and taking photos with dolphins cost extra. Agree on a budget with children before joining an activity. The venue can feel stuffy when it is crowded in summer. If that would be uncomfortable, use the shorter route and take a break outdoors at the nearby beach.

Food and visit expectations

Ye Cunli Haixian Daxian Zhengjiao (叶存利海鲜大馅蒸饺) is nearby, and there are seaside restaurants around Golden Dream Bay; check prices before ordering. Visitors who have been to a much larger aquarium may prefer to treat this as a shorter indoor visit.
