Location and scenic-area layout

Dahong Mountain's visitor centre and ticket office are at 361 Dahongshan Road, Changgang Town, Suixian County, Suizhou. The main stops are spread across a large area: Lingguanya, Baozhufeng Jinding, the Millennium Ginkgo, Bailong Chi (白龙池), and Qiaohe Ancient Trail. Liangwang Cave is currently closed, and the reopening date has not been announced.

Adult admission is about CNY 95 per person in the April–November peak season and about CNY 70 from December through March. Ordinary day visitors transfer to the scenic shuttle at the visitor centre; the shuttle price follows the day's ticketing and on-site notice. A short route takes about 3–4 hours, while the highlights route takes about 5–7 hours.

Opening and tickets

The current operating window for the scenic area is 08:00–17:30, with ticket sales and entry stopping at 16:00. Baozhufeng/Jinding generally runs about 08:00–17:00; the scenic-area bus runs about 08:00–16:00, with the last downhill service around 17:00. Holiday arrangements may change.

Tickets are available through channels such as the scenic area's Douyin account and official WeChat. An e-ticket may need to be exchanged for a paper ticket at the visitor centre before entering core areas such as Jinding, so complete that step before joining the shuttle queue.

Choose your visit

Jinding, the ancient ginkgo, and the forest trail

Baozhufeng Jinding is the scenic area's high point, with copper-clad architecture and mountain views. The nearly 3,000-year-old ginkgo is a major autumn sight, while Qiaohe Ancient Trail connects the ginkgo area and Jinding through forest and streams for a longer walk.

Liangwang Cave is currently closed; the reopening date will follow a later scenic-area notice. Other areas such as Bailong Chi can be added to a longer visit when they are open that day. This route suits visitors who enjoy natural scenery, walking, and a slower mountain itinerary.

Photography and physical effort

Jinding works well for architecture and distant mountain views, the ancient ginkgo for autumn canopies and fallen leaves, and Bailong Chi for reflections in calm or overcast conditions. The second half of the trail to Jinding is steeper and requires sustained walking.

Young children, older visitors, and anyone with limited mobility can use the scenic shuttle to reach the main stops first, then decide whether to enter the ancient trail or other walking areas according to the day's openings and their own strength. The longer route involves substantial walking; an overnight stay can separate sunrise, stars, or trail time into a second day, although weather may prevent those views.

Build your day

3–4 hours: Jinding and ginkgo short route

Take the scenic shuttle from the visitor centre to Lingguanya, then use the open trail or a short electric cart if one is operating that day to reach Jinding. Spend about 40 minutes at Jinding, take the shuttle to the Millennium Ginkgo for about 30 minutes, and return to the visitor centre by shuttle.

This route covers the concentrated summit and old-tree highlights and suits visitors with limited time. If you walk from Lingguanya to Jinding, include the uphill and downhill time in your shuttle return plan; the section and price of any short electric cart are confirmed on site.

5–7 hours: forest highlights route

In the morning, take the shuttle from the visitor centre to Lingguanya and walk along the open trail to Jinding, then take the shuttle down to eat near the Ginkgo Square before visiting the Millennium Ginkgo. In the afternoon, walk the approximately 3-km Qiaohe Ancient Trail through forest and along streams.

After Qiaohe Ancient Trail, choose Bailong Chi or another area that is open that day before taking the shuttle back to the visitor centre. The shuttle timetable determines the final stop, so plan the return around the actual operating time.

Get there

Driving and mountain access

Drive to “Dahong Mountain Scenic Area Visitor Centre,” where parking is available. Some accommodation inside the scenic area may allow guests to drive in on specific dates; confirm the permission with both the hotel and the scenic area before booking. Whether accommodation parking is free follows the same-day notice.

Ordinary day visitors transfer to the scenic shuttle at the visitor centre. The shuttle connects Lingguanya, Jinding, the ancient ginkgo, and other main stops; its price and operating arrangements follow the on-site notice.

Railway stations and public transport

From Suizhou Railway Station or Suizhou South Railway Station, go to Suizhou Coach Station and take a bus towards Changgang Town, getting off at the Dahong Mountain entrance. Suizhou has no metro, and non-driving visitors need to make this transfer.

From Lingguanya to Jinding, you can use the open trail; if a short electric cart is operating that day, its section and price are confirmed on site. This service is separate from the scenic shuttle that connects the wider area.

Know before you go

Tickets, paper-ticket exchange, and trail timing

Adult admission is about CNY 95 in the April–November peak season and about CNY 70 from December through March. The shuttle price follows the day's notice, while child, senior, and student concessions require same-day document verification. If your e-ticket must be exchanged for a paper ticket, do this at the visitor centre before continuing to Jinding.

The scenic area runs about 08:00–17:30, with ticket sales and entry stopping at 16:00. Baozhufeng/Jinding generally runs about 08:00–17:00, the scenic bus about 08:00–16:00, and the last downhill service around 17:00; holidays may change these times. The second half of the trail to Jinding and the continuous walking on Qiaohe Ancient Trail call for proper shoes. Water and food are available only at limited points, including the visitor centre, Lingguanya, and near the Ginkgo Square.

Peak-season limits and accommodation

Traffic can build up during holidays and peak season, and day visitors should use the scenic-shuttle plan for entering the mountain. Permission for accommodation guests to drive in applies only when the day's rules allow it; guest parking and any parking concession follow the on-site notice. A hotel booking alone does not provide year-round mountain access.

Small restaurants at Lingguanya, farm-style meals near the Ginkgo Square, and meals at mountain hotels can serve as stops along the route. If you also visit Millennium Ginkgo Valley or Tianwangzhai, calculate their driving time, tickets, and walking separately; neither forms part of the Dahong Mountain shuttle loop.
