The river and themed scenery
The complete river is about 9 km long, drops about 110 m, and includes nine S-shaped bends and more than 30 rapids and shoals, along with calmer water-play sections. Along the route are themed sights such as sites associated with Journey to the West legends, shrine grottoes, demon-and-monster caves, Water Curtain Cave, and waterfalls.
The finish area has a large “Journey to the West Rafting” arch, which is a good photo stop after coming ashore. Rapids and calmer sections alternate, making the continuous water journey the main experience; there is no shortened version or second rafting route.
Groups and shared boats
Boat-sharing arrangements follow the day's boat groups and safety rules, and visitors may need to share with other guests when numbers are insufficient. Travelling with companions makes it easier to coordinate water play and look after belongings; solo visitors should accept the boat-group arrangement on site.

From reception to the launch point
Drive to the Longquan Village reception area, park as directed, and complete the day's ticket purchase and verification before going to the shuttle station. The shuttle takes visitors to the launch point below the reservoir dam; the launch point does not provide the reception area's parking or ticketing functions.
After entering the water with your boat group, follow the only river through the rapids, calmer sections, and themed scenery. After coming ashore, return to the reception side for showering, collecting stored items, and departure; there is no second rafting route to choose from.
Arrival and return rhythm
Arrive early within the same-day published operating window, then complete parking, ticket verification, and the shuttle transfer. Heavy rain may stop rafting for the day, so confirm whether boats are running after you arrive.
Queues can be longer on weekends and holidays, and increased traffic may send cars to a more distant backup parking area. The reception, ticketing, shower, and shuttle points are close to one another, but allow time to shower and collect belongings after rafting.

There is no metro or direct public transport to the attraction, so most visitors arrive by private car or tour charter. Parking, walking within the reception area, and shuttle arrangements follow the day's operating organisation. Weekend and holiday traffic can be heavy; park according to the on-site directions and travel light when completing ticket verification and boarding the shuttle.

The rafting season, first departure, and last departure change from year to year and by day. Outside the rafting season, do not travel there based on ordinary scenic-area opening hours.
