Plan at a glance
Seasonal mountain-valley area
Limutai is at the junction of Maying Highway and Limutai Road in Xiaying Town, Jizhou District. Navigate to the Limutai Scenic Area parking lot. It has previously operated from mid-to-late March through mid-November, with common hours around 8:00–17:00 and last entry at 16:00. Season, weather, and maintenance can change the opening. Basic tickets have been around CNY65–70, and some recorded ticket types included a round-trip shuttle; confirm the current inclusions on the day.
Time and physical effort
A route covering the waterfall, the uphill sightseeing vehicle, old trees, boardwalks, and a downhill slide takes about 4–5 hours. A shorter section near the entrance takes less time. Valleys, steps, and wet ground slow the actual pace, so families, older visitors, and visitors with pets should assess their stamina and the rules separately.

Choose your visit
Streams, waterfalls, and geology
Tiandao Waterfall and the streams are the main natural features. The narrow Dengtianfeng (登天缝) shows the rock walls and valley geology, while forest boardwalks provide a shaded walk. Water play is limited to areas clearly opened by the scenic area, and flow, weather, and on-site management can change. Catching small fish and entering the streambed are not part of the normal route.
Ancient trees and the forest route
The Lishu Wang (梨树王) tree, forest boardwalks, and shade along the route suit visitors who enjoy light hiking, escaping the heat, and being in nature. A mountain path is not the same as a flat pavement. Stay on boardwalks and permitted areas for photos, and do not leave the route to seek a waterfall angle or approach steep drops and deep water.
Build your day
A 4–5 hour full route
After entering, take the first round-trip shuttle to the core area. Whether it is included in the basic ticket follows the ticket and day’s notice. After getting off, walk to Tiandao Waterfall, then confirm the second sightseeing vehicle’s operation and ticket type. Take it uphill and walk to the Lishu Wang (梨树王). Descend by the forest boardwalk; if the slide is open and the ticket conditions suit you, take the downhill slide, then follow the signs to transfer back to the shuttle and leave.
Keep the transport sections separate
The first shuttle, the second uphill sightseeing vehicle, and the downhill slide are three different arrangements. Do not infer from a package name that it includes a particular section. If the sightseeing vehicle is suspended, the slide is closed, or a companion should not use the slide, return by the boardwalk and shuttle route. Do not leave an open path simply to reach an extra activity.
Get there
Driving and parking
Driving from central Tianjin or Beijing takes about 1.5–2 hours. Navigate to the scenic-area parking lot. Whether nearby farmhouse parking is open, how much it charges, and whether it connects with the shuttle must be confirmed that day. Around CNY10 per day is reference information, not a fixed official parking price. After parking, enter according to the shuttle-stop and ticket-check signs.
Public transport
Bus 199 has operated directly from Tianjin Tongsha Coach Station, but the trip is long and the last service matters. Visitors without a car should confirm the day’s service, return, and final scenic-area shuttle before departure. The mountain approach and descent must be planned together.
Know before you go
Water play, pets, and weather
Whether water areas are open, whether pets may enter, and whether pets can ride the shuttle or enter boardwalks all follow the day’s rules. Do not enter the water privately, catch aquatic animals, or take pets into prohibited areas. Stone steps and boardwalks are slippery after rain. Thunderstorms, flash floods, heat, or cold may close the park, suspend the shuttle, or close the slide.
Equipment and supplies
Wear hiking shoes with good grip and bring water, light food, a change of clothes, and approved rain gear. If you plan to use an open stream area, bring sandals as well; slippers are not a substitute for mountain shoes. Food inside is limited, and nearby farmhouses change their business hours, so confirm that they are open before departure.
Confirming the shuttle
At the ticket entrance, confirm whether the first shuttle is included in the current ticket, its boarding points, and its last service. Past ticket information cannot replace the day’s ticket. Check the second sightseeing vehicle’s stops and fee separately as well.
Connecting after the descent
After using the slide or boardwalk to descend, you still need to return to the shuttle stop before leaving. Visitors without a car should confirm the boarding location for Tongsha Bus 199 or a ride-hailing car first and should not wait for an improvised vehicle after the scenic area closes.
