Plan at a glance
Cruise experience and piers
The Haihe River Cruise is a separately ticketed water experience. Common piers include Tianjin Station, Jinwan Square, Italian Style Area, Ancient Culture Street, and Yongle Pier, but the piers in service change with the season, weather, water level, and activities. A cruise lasts about 50 minutes and does not stop midway. Plan the ticket check and queue before boarding together with your return after disembarking; riverside walking and the cruise are separate plans, and the boat is not a riverside transport service.
Reservations and day or night sailing
Tickets usually require real-name purchase through the “Haihe Cruise” WeChat mini-program. Day cruises are often around 15:00–17:00 and night cruises often start after about 19:30; fares have been around CNY80 by day and CNY138 at night. Check the current seasonal page for the actual sailings and prices. Weekends, holidays, and themed cruises may change ticket release and check-in rules. After booking, confirm the pier, boarding time, and refund or change conditions. International visitors should confirm passport real-name registration, WeChat binding, and payment in advance. If the online booking cannot be completed, contact cruise customer service first to confirm an alternative boarding method.

Choose your visit
Day or night
Daylight is better for bridges, riverside buildings, and the city structure. A night cruise depends more on the riverbank lighting, weather, and the view from the boat. The deck gives a full view of bridges and the river but can be windy and cold; companions who get cold or seasick may prefer an enclosed seat and calmer weather.
Representative sights along the route
The boat may pass Jiefang Bridge, Beian Bridge, the Tianjin Eye, and other bridges. The number and order depend on the route that day. Upward views from beneath a bridge, looking back from the stern, and photographing the Tianjin Eye from the deck are all practical options. A themed cruise may use projections or special decorations that obstruct a cabin window, so read the product description before buying.
Build your day
A roughly one-hour short route
First confirm in the official mini-program which pier still has tickets. Arrive at the ground-level check-in point early and board as directed. After the roughly 50-minute cruise, disembark near the original pier and return along public roads to the metro or a legitimate parking area. The boat does not stop midway, so you cannot get off freely or change piers during the trip.
A 2–3 hour combined route
You can connect the Tianjin Station pier with Jiefang Bridge and Jinwan Square, or pair the Italian Style Area Pier with a walk through the Italian Style Area. The Ancient Culture Street pier works well with Tianhou Temple and the old street before or after sailing. Confirm the pier and boarding time on the ticket first, then arrange the shore walk. Do not complete a whole fixed “night view” circuit and expect the boat schedule to match it.
Get there
Metro and approaching the piers
The Tianjin Station and Jinwan Square area can be reached on foot from nearby stations on Metro Lines 2, 3, and 9. The Italian Style Area pier can be approached from Tianjin Station or Jinjie Station, usually a 10–15 minute walk. Similar pier names can be confusing, so use the day’s order and on-site signs after leaving the station rather than navigating only to “Haihe River Cruise.”
Driving and the return trip
Parking near the piers is limited, so do not stop temporarily along the river to catch a departure. Use a more distant legitimate car park and walk if needed. After a night cruise, bus and metro last services and taxi supply may change. Confirm your return, especially when using a remote or temporarily operating pier.
Know before you go
Weather, lighting, and sailings
Strong wind, thunderstorms, water levels, and temporary activities can cause a sailing suspension, a pier change, or a cancelled night cruise. Riverbank lighting and night sailing arrangements vary with the date, weather, and activities. Before departure, confirm the sailing, weather, boarding entrance, and refund or change rules; the completeness of the night view depends on that day’s lighting and visibility.
On-board etiquette and photography
Keep passageways clear when taking photos on the deck, and do not lean over or climb the railings. The temperature can differ significantly between the cabin and deck, so bring a light jacket. Themed cruises and regular routes are different ticket types; confirm separately what each includes when purchasing.
Check before boarding
Check the pier, vessel name, sailing, and ticket-check time on the order one by one. Different piers may have boats on the same evening, so follow the specified riverbank entrance when names are similar.
Seasickness and companions
If you are prone to seasickness, ask about seating and weather first and reduce movement between the cabin and deck. Companions who are not cruising should agree on a waiting and return point before boarding; a pier is not a free hop-on, hop-off stop.
