Plan at a glance

Mountain landscape and physical effort

Panshan Scenic Area is in Lianhualing Village, Guanzhuang Town, Jizhou District, with the entrance at Rusheng Gate. An adult ticket is about CNY78. Opening is around 8:00–18:00, with ticket checking ending at 16:00; cable cars, sightseeing vehicles, and combination tickets are separate. The balance of walking and transport determines the physical effort. A quick route takes about 2–3 hours, while a full route takes about 4–5 hours.

Keep the three cable-car sections separate

Panshan has the Rusheng Cableway, Yunsong Cableway, and Guayue Cableway, as well as sightseeing-vehicle connections. Each section has different start and end points, direction, operation, and relationship with combination tickets. Before buying, confirm the route you want and whether each section is included.

Choose your visit

The three scenic zones and temples

Panshan’s attractions can be understood as streams in the lower mountain, unusual rocks in the middle section, and ancient pines higher up. Tiancheng Temple and Wansong Temple add cultural stops. Visitors who enjoy landscape and historic buildings can reserve walking time for Wansong Temple and the scenery. Visitors with limited energy should first identify the summit or temple they must see, then choose the transport section.

Summit views

Guayue Peak, Yunzhao Temple, and the Dingguang Buddha Relic Pagoda are at higher elevations, where views open up in clear weather. Cable-car cabins, the gate, and the summit are all possible photo settings, but do not move around excessively inside a cabin or stay at its door to photograph. Wind and temperature at the summit may differ from the foot of the mountain.

Build your day

A 4–5 hour highlights route

From Rusheng Gate, walk to Wansong Temple, seeing the lower streams and mid-mountain rocks along the way. After confirming operation and ticket type, take the Yunsong Cableway uphill. At the higher section, walk to Guayue Peak, Yunzhao Temple, and the Dingguang Buddha Relic Pagoda. The Guayue Cableway does not return directly to the mountain gate; descent still requires another transport option or walking.

A 2–3 hour short route

If time or energy is limited, confirm the Rusheng, Yunsong, and summit operating status at the entrance and choose the appropriate uphill combination. After seeing Guayue Peak, return according to the combination purchased. If the ticket includes only one cableway section or the sightseeing vehicle, follow the ticket to its corresponding stop; do not assume on site that cableways running in different directions can substitute for one another.

Get there

Driving and public transport

Driving takes about 1.5 hours from central Tianjin and about 1.5–2 hours from Beijing. Navigate to P1, the first car park at Panshan Scenic Area. If P1 is full, follow directions to P2 and use the free shuttle. You can also reach Jizhou or Jizhou North Station and change to Tourist Bus 11; direct buses from Beijing’s Sihui area may operate, but confirm the service and return in advance.

Entrance and return

All cableway choices begin after ticket checking at the main entrance. The car parks and mountain gate are separate locations. After descending, allow time to get from the station to the exit, car park, or shuttle. A high-elevation station does not place you beside your vehicle; when catching a last service, descend by the safe route.

Know before you go

Mountain paths and weather

Mountain paths include irregular steps. Summer brings many insects, so wear shoes with good grip and bring insect repellent and water. Cableway queues can be long on weekends. Heat, thunderstorms, fog, and strong wind can affect cableways, sightseeing vehicles, and summit visibility; check suspension and refund or change rules before departure.

Spending and historic sites

Supplies on the mountain are limited and may be expensive, so consider carrying high-energy snacks. Confirm cableways, sightseeing vehicles, food, and guiding services separately and choose a package for your own route. Keep quiet around temples and the relic pagoda, do not touch historic buildings or objects, and do not descend by a closed mountain path.

Boarding point for each transport section

After buying a ticket, confirm the separate boarding points and directions for the Rusheng, Yunsong, and Guayue cableways before starting. After getting off, follow the signs to the next section. Similar endpoint names do not mean that a direct transfer is available.

Return margin

Peak-season queues can delay the descent. Check the final ticket-check and shuttle times before returning. If you bought only an uphill section, confirm the walking distance and exit, and whether a vehicle returns you to the mountain gate; this follows the day’s ticket and shuttle arrangements.
