Plan at a glance
Tower access and visit length
Tianjin Radio and Television Tower is at No. 1 Weijin South Road in Hexi District, with the entrance inside Tian Tower Lake Scenic Area. An adult combination ticket is about CNY100 and includes the 253-metre observation hall and the 257-metre West Bank Study. Opening is around 10:00–21:00, but ticket types and hours can change. A tower visit takes about one hour; combining it with Water Park takes 3–4 hours.
Weather for the view
Visibility strongly affects the tower experience. Clear, less hazy conditions with lighter wind are better for seeing city landmarks. Around sunset, you may see daylight, twilight, and city lights in one visit, but lighting, visibility, and the actual sunset time vary by season and weather; all three views are not guaranteed together.

Choose your visit
The 253-metre observation hall
The observation hall offers views toward the Haihe, the Tianjin Eye, and the Tianjin Olympic Center (the “Water Drop,” 水滴奥体中心). Glass and interior steelwork can also be used as photographic foregrounds. Fog, low cloud, or the condition of the glass may reduce distant views; cleaning or temporary closure can also affect the experience.
The 257-metre study and the lake
The West Bank Study offers a rotating reading space. If a cat area operates there, the number of cats, opening times, and interaction rules follow the day’s management. Do not chase, pick up, or feed the cats. Outside, Tian Tower Lake can be viewed from the bank and suits companions who do not buy a tower ticket, but the lake and tower entrance are separate spaces.
Build your day
A one-hour tower route
Enter Tian Tower Lake Scenic Area and follow the “tower entrance” signs for ticket checking. Visit the 253-metre observation hall first, then follow staff directions to the 257-metre study before descending to the lake area. Whether a combination ticket can be split, whether the study is open, and how the lift and route operate follow the day’s ticket and notice.
A 3–4 hour combined route
Walk through the free Water Park for 1–2 hours first, then enter Tian Tower Lake Scenic Area for the tower, using the late afternoon as a possible viewing window. If the weather worsens, finish the outdoor lake section first and adjust the tower visit according to the reservation or on-site queue. Water Park, Tian Tower Lake, and the tower spaces have separate management boundaries and do not share a ticket.
Get there
Metro and entrance
Take Metro Line 3 to Tian Tower Station. From Exit B, walk about five minutes to Tian Tower Lake Scenic Area, then follow the tower entrance signs. Buses such as 8, 12, and 161 stop near Tian Tower Station. Do not look for the tower ticket check through another entrance to Water Park.
Driving and parking
The scenic area has parking, but spaces may be limited on holidays. Confirm the legitimate parking area and fee before walking in. After descending at night, return to the parking area along open paths and do not linger by unlit lake edges or unprotected water.
Know before you go
Combination tickets and high-altitude safety
Even if you only want the observation hall, confirm whether the current ticket remains a combined observation-hall and study ticket; do not expect to split it at the venue. At height, do not climb railings, lean against glass, or stop in lifts and narrow passages. Wind, rain, or maintenance may close part of the route.
Rest and animal management
Drinks and food at the tower may be relatively expensive, so bring water if permitted. If cats are present in the study, keep your distance and follow staff arrangements; do not touch or feed them for a photo. Food, toilets, and opening hours in Water Park should be checked separately.
Judging visibility
Haze, low cloud, and strong backlight can reduce the visibility of distant landmarks. Check the weather before buying a ticket. When visibility is poor, reflections from the lakebank are often more reliable than a distant view from the tower. If you only want a tower reflection, take photos from the bank instead of changing the whole plan for a tower ticket.
Leaving the viewpoint
After descending, return from the scenic-area exit to the lake or parking area. First confirm the closing time of the lift, rotating space, and study. Do not remain in a lakeside area that has already closed simply to wait for the lights.
