How to Visit

Treat it as the second summit
Old Golden Peak is inside Fanjingshan's core route. It does not need a separate ticket and usually does not have the same queue pressure as Hongyun Golden Peak. It is best after you have handled Hongyun Golden Peak access.
Tip:The round trip from Pudu Square takes about 1.5-2 hours, so do not add it if your energy is already low.

Decide by energy level
Old Golden Peak has less queue pressure, but it still has many steps and strong wind at the top. If your energy is limited, keep it as an optional stop.
Tip:If your knees struggle with downhill steps, descending from Old Golden Peak may feel harder than climbing up.

Go when visibility is good
The value of Old Golden Peak is the view: Hongyun Golden Peak, Mushroom Stone, and the surrounding mountains. In heavy fog, the reward drops sharply.
Tip:If visibility is poor, saving time for Mushroom Stone and the descent is more practical.

Do not squeeze the descent
After Old Golden Peak, you still need to return to the cableway and shuttle system. Later in the afternoon, visitors also start moving downhill in larger numbers.
Tip:If Hongyun Golden Peak has already taken a long time, leave Old Golden Peak for another visit.
