Use it as a half-day near Fanjingshan
Yamugou is in Jiangkou County, not far from the Fanjingshan visitor area. It works best before or after Fanjingshan as a relaxed half-day stop for water, shade, and slower walking.
Tip:If you only have one day in Tongren, prioritize Fanjingshan. Yamugou is better when you have extra time.

Walk the gorge boardwalk out and back
The main route follows the stream, boardwalks, waterfalls, and forest. Most visitors can plan 2-3 hours without covering every side path.
Tip:There are noticeable artificial facilities inside, so visitors expecting a fully natural gorge may be disappointed.

Use a car or hired ride if possible
Yamugou is easy from Jiangkou County or the Fanjingshan area. Coming only from Tongren city takes more time.
Tip:Public transport is possible but less smooth. For a first visit with limited time, pair it by car with Fanjingshan, Zhaisha Dong Village, or Yunshe.
