Plan at a glance
Separate scenic area, entrance and hours
Nianhua Bay is at No. 68 Huanshan West Road, Mashan, Binhu District, Wuxi. The main entrance is the South Entrance, while drivers can also navigate to the North Entrance parking lot. Nianhua Bay is next to Lingshan Scenic Area but has a separate entrance and ticket; a Lingshan ticket does not cover it. Opening hours are 09:00–20:30 on weekdays and 09:00–21:00 on weekends.
Tickets and time needed
Budget about CNY 140 for an adult ticket. Online booking may offer discounts, and students and older visitors can receive half-price tickets. The main streets and landmarks take about 2–3 hours. To combine the daytime streets, Luming Valley, dinner and evening programs, plan 4–6 hours and enter in the afternoon. If you do not want to rush for the last transport or deal with departure crowds, consider staying overnight inside the scenic area.

Daytime streets and evening programs
Xiangyue Flower Street is good for daytime walks and photos. Nianhua Pagoda, Five Lamps Lake and Smile Plaza are the main evening stops. At Nianhua Pagoda, you can watch the tower-lighting ceremony; Five Lamps Lake has the water-screen film “Flowers Bloom in Five Petals”; and Smile Plaza may host drone and fireworks shows. Brahma Flower Sea is seasonal, so outside the flower season, focus on the streets, lake and illuminated architecture.
Who this visit suits
Visitors who enjoy architecture, night views, photography and slow-paced streets can stay from afternoon into the evening. For a first Wuxi visit, Nianhua Bay also works as a separate evening destination after Lingshan Scenic Area. Families can choose the small train and shorter walks; visitors seeking a quieter pace can spend more time by the water and in the flower areas away from the main street. Luming Valley is farther from the main street and needs its own travel time.
Build your day
A quick route for about 2–3 hours
Enter through the South Entrance, walk along Xiangyue Flower Street, then continue to Nianhua Pagoda, Five Lamps Lake and Smile Plaza before leaving through the exit. This covers the town’s most concentrated architectural and evening-viewing points. Add more time if you want to visit Luming Valley or wait for an evening performance.
An afternoon-to-evening route for about 4–6 hours
Enter in the afternoon, explore and photograph the main street, then consider a rowing boat before continuing to Brahma Flower Sea and Luming Valley. Return for dinner, then see the tower-lighting ceremony, water-screen show and any drone or fireworks program operating that day. Luming Valley is more than a 30-minute walk from the main street, so take the small train and go early; it may stop admitting visitors at dusk. After the evening programs, leave according to the actual exit and return-transport arrangements.
Get there
Public transport
From Wuxi Railway Station, take the Leyou Route 2 bus directly to the Nianhua Bay South Entrance; the ride takes about one hour. Confirm the return departures and last bus before entering. Public transport becomes more limited after the evening programs, and finding a taxi at the last minute may be difficult.
Driving and parking
For driving, navigate to Nianhua Bay. Parking costs about CNY 15 per visit and may be higher on public holidays. The North Entrance parking lot is usually more convenient for leaving after the evening views. If you travel from Lingshan Scenic Area, you still need to arrange a separate entrance, parking and ticket.
Know before you go
Programs, queues and weather
The scenic area is busy during public holidays, and some streets and performance areas may become crowded. Visiting outside public holidays or arriving earlier makes the schedule easier. The tower lighting, water-screen show, drone show and fireworks times can change with the weather and the day’s program. After entering, use the “Nianhua Code” mini program to confirm the schedule; do not assume that one particular evening program runs every day.
Food, supplies and return travel
Food inside the scenic area is generally expensive, and the range of flavors may not suit everyone. You can bring a small amount of snacks or arrange dinner outside the scenic area; the Mashan area has restaurants to choose from. If you plan to leave after the evening programs, arrange your return or accommodation in advance, especially when traveling with older visitors, children or a larger group. Do not leave the transport decision until the end of the night.
