Main experience and tickets

Taozu Sacred Site is at No. 36 Zhuhai Village, Hufu Town, Yixing, Wuxi. The main entrance is easy to find, and Muli Cave is the principal experience. The CNY 65 admission includes Muli Cave; the Bamboo-tip Glass Walkway costs CNY 80 separately and the underground water train costs CNY 20. Online packages are usually better value than buying each item separately, but confirm what is included before entering.

Opening hours and time needed

The site opens from 08:00 to 16:30, with last entry at 16:30, and currently does not require advance reservation. A quick route takes about one hour; adding the water train, pottery, bamboo maze and glass walkway takes 1.5–2 hours. The cave walk and the glass walkway each include steps or elevated sections, so assess stroller and wheelchair access in advance.

Choose your visit

Muli Cave, bamboo and pottery

Muli Cave has a route of about 1,100 metres and stays around 16°C. You can walk through the stalactite spaces or choose the underground water train, which takes about 2–3 minutes. The Bamboo-tip Glass Walkway is 680 metres long above the bamboo forest. At Fanli Pottery Workshop, visitors can receive a piece of clay and make a small item; natural drying is free, while firing and framing cost extra.

Who it suits

The full route suits visitors interested in caves, bamboo scenery and hands-on craft. Photographers can focus on Taihu Stone Forest, Sky Mirror and the elevated bamboo walkway. The glass walkway, train and pottery each affect the budget and time, so confirm the prices and physical requirements first; the cave floor is slippery and the bamboo walkway has short stair sections at its entrances.

Build your day

A 1-hour quick route

Enter and walk through Muli Cave, then continue to the Bamboo-tip Glass Walkway before leaving. This covers the cave and the elevated bamboo view for visitors who want the two main experiences. Walking through the cave gives you more control over the pace than the short train ride; decide whether to take the train based on the queue and price on the day.

A 1.5–2-hour full route

Start with Muli Cave and choose either walking or the underground water train, then visit Fanli Pottery Workshop for the craft activity. Continue through the bamboo maze to the Bamboo-tip Glass Walkway and leave through the exit. Natural drying, firing and framing have different collection arrangements, so confirm whether an extra payment or contact details are needed before leaving.

Get there

Driving and parking

Navigate to Taozu Sacred Site; parking at the entrance costs about CNY 15 per visit. It works well with Yixing Bamboo Forest or Zhanggong Cave in the same area, but Taozu Sacred Site itself takes about 1–2 hours, and the 16:30 last-entry time should determine when you leave for any next stop.

Public transport

From Yixing Jinsanjiao Bus Station, take Tourist Bus 201, 373 or 801 to Taozu Sacred Site Station. A taxi from Yixing High-Speed Railway Station takes about 35 minutes. Public-transport visitors should confirm the return departures first; waiting for a vehicle after the activities finish can take time.

Know before you go

Extra charges and facility conditions

The admission, glass walkway, train and pottery firing are separate charges. Ask for the total price and inclusions before buying several activities. Facility and sign conditions may change by date, so confirm the glass walkway and train's operating status and prices on site; the walking route remains the alternative.

Cave floor and nearby food

The floor inside Muli Cave is slippery, and the bamboo walkway has short steps at both ends, making it inconvenient for strollers and wheelchairs. Wear non-slip shoes and plan around your energy. Xiangshan Restaurant in the parking area serves clay-pot fish head, black sticky rice, zha gan and small bamboo shoots; food, parking and attraction activities are separate expenses, and the return journey still needs time.
