Area scope and ticket types
Xihui Scenic Area covers the free streets of Huishan Ancient Town, Xihui Park and the Cultural Relics Area. These three parts have different entrances and ticket permissions. The free streets include Huishan Zhijie, Hengjie and Yingyue Li; Xihui Park costs CNY 10, while the CNY 70 Cultural Relics Area combination ticket includes Jichang Garden, Huishan Temple, the Second Spring Under Heaven and Xihui Park. Allow about four hours for the gardens and historic sites, or about two hours for the free streets alone.
Opening hours and booking
The free streets and some ancestral halls generally stay open all day. Paid attractions usually open from 08:00 to 17:00 and may remain open until 17:30 on weekends. The CNY 70 combination ticket is best booked one day ahead through the relevant official account or a travel platform; online prices are around CNY 65. Xihui Park was recorded as having a free-entry promotion from July 15 to August 31, 2026; confirm whether it still applies before travelling.

Free streets, historic sites and the hillside
Visitors who prefer old streets and local snacks can stay around Huishan Zhijie, Hengjie and Yingyue Li, photographing Baoshan Bridge, Ruyi Bridge and the water after dark. Visitors who want paid historic sites can choose the route through Jichang Garden, Huishan Temple and the Second Spring Under Heaven; for more outdoor activity, enter Xihui Park to hike or ride the vintage cable car for views over the city and gardens.
Who it suits
The ancestral halls, Jichang Garden and Huishan Temple suit a quieter visit. Families can choose Wopu Adventure Camp or Chunshen Ravine depending on the weather, while visitors who enjoy night views and snacks can save the free streets for late afternoon. There are many stone paths and steps, so strollers are inconvenient; if gardens and historic sites are the priority, the CNY 70 combination route is more suitable than the CNY 10 park ticket alone.
Build your day
A 2-hour free-street route
Start at Exit 6 of Huishan Ancient Town Station on Metro Line 4. Walk along Huishan Zhijie to Baoshan Bridge and Ruyi Bridge, then continue to Yingyue Li for a break or a look around before returning the same way. For lanterns and reflections, visit Baoshan Bridge and Sitangjing Bridge after the lights come on, but remember that shops and snack stalls keep their own hours.
A 4–5-hour paid and hillside route
Enter from the old-town streets, buy the CNY 70 combination ticket, and visit Jichang Garden, Huishan Temple and the Second Spring Under Heaven before deciding whether to continue into Xihui Park. Visitors who only want the hillside can enter from the northeast or Qingshan Gate with the CNY 10 park ticket, then reach the cable-car station and return by cable car or on foot; if Jichang Garden and the temples are also part of the plan, choose the CNY 70 combination ticket from the start. The north gate may close after 17:00, so reach it before then if you plan to return to the old town from the north side.
Get there
Metro and entrances
Take Wuxi Metro Line 4 to Huishan Ancient Town Station. Exit 6 is about a two-minute walk from the free streets; from there, follow the signs to the relevant ticket area. Xihui Park can also be entered through the northeast gate, Guhua Mountain Gate or Qingshan Gate, with Qingshan Gate closest to the cable-car station. The entrance you choose will affect both the climb and the return route.
Driving and parking
Drivers can navigate to the Huishan Ancient Town underground parking lot, which costs about CNY 15 per visit on weekdays and about CNY 30 on holidays. The old-town roads are not suitable for temporary stopping; on busy dates, park in a public lot and walk in. Metro is usually easier for keeping your arrival time predictable.
Know before you go
Ticket permissions and the north-gate deadline
The CNY 10 Xihui Park ticket does not include Jichang Garden. The CNY 70 Cultural Relics Area combination ticket covers Jichang Garden, Huishan Temple, the Second Spring Under Heaven and Xihui Park. If you plan to reach the old town from the north gate after riding down from the cable-car area, pass through before 17:00; later, the gate may close and the route may lead to another exit or a night-park arrangement.
Paths, water and seasonal activities
There are many stone paths and steps, so wear shoes with good grip and avoid bringing a stroller if possible. Summer has relatively few places to buy drinks, so carry enough water; whether Chunshen Ravine has water depends on recent weather, and the stream is more likely to be visible after rain. The old-town streets have Huishan tofu pudding, crab xiaolongbao and silver-thread noodles, while food and rest areas inside the paid attractions are separate.
