Plan at a glance
Location and entrance
Chunqiu Village is in Luping Village, Donggong Town, Nanzhang County. After ticket inspection at the main entrance, choose between the walking route and the cableway route. The attraction has a large parking area; public transport is inconvenient.
Tickets and opening hours
The adult admission ticket is currently about CNY 65–70. A one-way cableway plus one-way boat combination is about CNY 90, while an adult package including admission, one-way cableway, and one-way boat is about CNY 145. Normal hours are about 08:30–17:30, with entry stopping after 16:30. Prices, products, and hours may change, so confirm the day's ticket before purchase.
Main experiences
The cableway looks over Maoping River as it curves around the mountain stockade. The main sights include the training ground, Chunqiu Lou (春秋楼), Guan Yu statue, ancient stockade ruins, the boat ride, and the Ancient Stockade Museum.

Cableway up and boat back
The longer combination route takes about 4–5 hours: pass the scenic bridge, take the cableway uphill, visit the summit sights, walk to the boat pier, take the boat back, and finish at the museum or the foothill ruins. This route suits visitors who want the full cableway, mountain, and river experience.
Walk up, boat across, and cableway back
The 2–3-hour quicker route starts with an uphill walk from the main entrance, continues through the ruins and museum, crosses the river by boat, then walks to the upper cableway station for the return ride. It still includes many steps and slopes, so it is better for visitors with good stamina.
Match the route to your group
Visitors who enjoy mountain walking and the cableway-and-boat combination can allow 4–5 hours. If time is limited but your stamina is good, consider the 2–3-hour uphill walking route. With average fitness, older adults, or children, it is more suitable to take the cableway uphill and reduce the time or walking range at the top.

Build your day
A 4–5-hour cableway and boat route
Enter through the main gate, cross the scenic bridge, and take the cableway uphill. Visit the training ground, Chunqiu Lou, Guan Yu statue, and the mountain stockade remains, then walk to the boat pier. After the boat ride back, choose the Ancient Stockade Museum or the foothill ruins before leaving.
A 2–3-hour uphill walking route
Start by walking uphill from the main entrance, then visit the ruins and museum before taking the boat across the river. From the opposite side, walk to the upper cableway station and take the cableway back down. Leave extra time if the group includes anyone who may need more rest on the stone steps.
Heat, supplies, and seasonal comfort
There are many stone steps and limited refreshments. Summer can feel hot and humid; autumn, winter, or a cool morning after rain is often more comfortable for walking. Bring water and food, wear shoes with good grip, and keep the return boat and cableway sequence in mind when planning the final stop.
Get there
Driving from Xiangyang
Driving from central Xiangyang takes about 1.5–2 hours. Navigate to Chunqiu Village Scenic Area and follow the signs to the main entrance and parking area. The parking area is large and is generally available without a parking charge, but follow the day's on-site signs.
Public transport is limited
Public transport connections are inconvenient, so a private car or taxi arranged for the return is more practical. Before entering, confirm when the last boat and cableway services run and where the vehicle will be collected after the route.

Legend and landscape setting
The story of Guan Yu reading *The Spring and Autumn Annals* belongs to the site's legend and visitor narrative. The remaining structures are historic mountain-stockade ruins and should not be presented as a complete reconstruction of an ancient village.
Keep the return sequence clear
The two routes use the boat and cableway in different directions. Check whether the chosen ticket includes admission, the cableway, and the boat, then follow the signs for the correct pier and cableway station. Leave enough time to complete the final transport leg before services end.
