Start with the large prayer flags and open pass scenery, continue to the Princess Wencheng statue and the Sun and Moon Pavilions, then decide whether to spend more time on the walking paths. Allow around 1-1.5 hours for viewing and photos.
Tip:When winds are strong, do not remain for long in exposed areas just for photographs.

Riyue Mountain Pass is about 3,520 metres above sea level, and strong wind, cold, intense ultraviolet exposure, rain, or snow can substantially change both comfort and road conditions.
Tip:Carry warm windproof layers, sun protection, and water. If you develop headache, dizziness, or marked shortness of breath after arriving at altitude, stop climbing, rest, and reduce further high-altitude activity that day.
