Plan at a glance

The north gate, south gate and rafting endpoints are separate

Shuimo Tingxi Scenic Area is in Caicun Town, Jing County, Xuancheng. The north and south gates serve different visiting and transport arrangements. Nanshan Yougu, the Wan'nan Shudao Glass Walkway, Nanshan First Drift and Nanshan First Flight are spread along the valley and mountain roads, while the rafting start and finish points are separate.

The quick route takes about 2–3 hours, and the full route takes about 4–6 hours. Driving is the most practical option. The internal mountain roads are narrow and winding, so drivers unfamiliar with mountain roads should slow down and confirm the gate and return-shuttle arrangements in advance.

Ticket prices, activities and opening hours

Admission is about CNY 48–58 per person, while online combination tickets may be around CNY 49–69.9. Temporary free-entry or discount offers may apply during special activities; whether they apply depends on the travel-date ticket information. Special reservations are generally not required. The scenic area usually opens around 08:00–17:00.

Rafting, ziplining and the glass walkway may be sold separately, and the rafting experience usually takes about 2 hours. Activity access, water levels and shuttle arrangements may change with the day's conditions. Temporary discounts usually apply only to designated activities, and rafting, ziplining and the glass walkway may each have a separate charge.

Nanshan Yougu: streamside paths and time by the water

Nanshan Yougu centres on streams, bamboo and paths along the water. It suits short walks, valley views and time by the open stream sections. Water clarity, water levels and access near the water depend on the weather, so keep away from rapids, deep water and slippery rocks.

This route suits families, visitors who enjoy nature paths and summer trips. With children, keep them under close supervision; shallow stream sections can still have slippery rocks, so use only the open areas.

Nanshan First Drift, Wan'nan Shudao and Nanshan First Flight

Nanshan First Drift is about 3 kilometres long, with several small drops, and the full experience takes about 2 hours. Its start and finish points are separate, so you need a return trip or scenic-area shuttle. The Wan'nan Shudao Glass Walkway is about 2.5 kilometres long and can be added after the valley walk. Nanshan First Flight is a zipline across the valley.

These activities suit visitors who want water or aerial experiences. Rafting, ziplining and the glass walkway each have their own fees, capacity, opening hours and participation requirements, so choose the route according to the activities open that day and the weather.

Build your day

Quick route: north gate, Nanshan Yougu and Wan'nan Shudao

Enter through the north gate and take the scenic-area shuttle to the core area. Walk along the Nanshan Yougu streamside path, then visit the Wan'nan Shudao Glass Walkway if it is open. Allow about 2–3 hours.

Shuttle routing from the North Gate, access to the glass walkway and the return route to the parking area may vary by day. Confirm the day's shuttle arrangement after arriving. Wear shoes with good grip by the stream, and do not take photos or step into faster-flowing water.

Full route: Nanshan First Drift, Nanshan Yougu and Nanshan First Flight

Drive to the south gate and start with Nanshan First Drift. After leaving the raft at the finish point, take the scenic-area shuttle back towards the north gate or parking area. In the afternoon, visit Nanshan Yougu or try Nanshan First Flight if it is open. Allow about 4–6 hours.

The rafting finish point is separate from the south gate. Confirm the shuttle, return route and last service before buying a ticket and entering. Rafting can leave you wet, so allow time to change or dry clothes before the next activity.

Get there

Drive to the north or south gate

For the north gate, navigate to the Shuimo Tingxi North Gate parking area. For the south gate, follow the day's navigation signs to the south entrance. The internal roads are narrow and winding; slow down when vehicles pass and do not stop for photos on bends or narrow sections.

If you plan to raft, confirm the start and finish points, parking area and shuttle back to the north or south side. Public transport does not cover the different activity endpoints well, so visitors without a car are better off focusing on one main area.

Ticketing and activity shuttles

Admission, combination tickets, rafting, ziplining and the glass walkway may be sold separately. The main admission ticket may not include the rafting, zipline or glass walkway, so check which activities a combination ticket covers before buying.

Know before you go

Valley, rafting and mountain-road safety

Rain or rising water can make streamside paths and rocks more slippery, and rafting or water activities may be adjusted. With children, stay close and keep out of rapids, deep water and areas without clear public access.

Temporary discounts and access

Temporary free-entry or combination-ticket offers may change with the activity schedule. Rafting, ziplining, the glass walkway and the shuttle may also change with the weather or management arrangements. Choose the route according to the activities open that day and the weather.

Mountain driving and supplies

The mountain roads have many bends, so drivers who are new to mountain roads should take extra care. Supplies and food outlets are spread out. Bring water and a change of clothes if you are rafting, and carry mosquito protection in summer.
