Start with the Central Auditorium
The Central Auditorium is one of Yangjialing's most important spaces and the easiest place to understand the site's historical weight.
Slow down in the former-residence area
The former residences of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, and other leaders are plain and can look similar at first glance.
Pair Yangjialing with Zaoyuan on the same day
Yangjialing and Zaoyuan are close to each other, but their themes are different. Yangjialing is stronger for the Seventh Party Congress, the Central Auditorium, and central-office spaces; Zaoyuan feels more like a garden-style former site and Secretariat base.
