Plan at a glance

Hotel hot-spring pools

These pools are inside the Crowne Plaza hotel near Changbai Mountain's North Gate in Erdaobaihe Town, Antu County. The hotel says the spring water is piped from Julong Spring. This is a different experience from the Julong Hot Spring Group inside the North Slope scenic area: one is bathing in a hotel pool, while the other is a geothermal feature viewed along the mountain trails.

Ask which areas are open during renovation

Changbaishan Tourism's pool renovation is scheduled to run from September 15 to October 31, 2026, and includes indoor and outdoor pools and the hot-spring water system. These dates do not mean the whole hotel is closed or that the work is complete. Before buying a ticket or arranging a stay, contact the hotel to confirm whether non-hotel guests are being admitted, which pools are available and which areas are closed.

Choose your visit

Indoor and outdoor pool options may change

The hotel website has described indoor pools, a children's splash pool, outdoor scenic pools and herbal or hydrotherapy pools. The layout may change after renovation. Ask which pool areas are open on your date rather than planning around the pool count or names on an older page.

Separate hotel guest benefits from day tickets

IHG lists unlimited hot-spring visits as a benefit for registered hotel guests, subject to the facilities available during their stay. If non-hotel visitors are being admitted, they need a separate day ticket. Changbai Mountain North Slope admission does not include access to the hotel’s hot-spring pools. Check your room package or day ticket for the current conditions, especially during renovation. A third-party ticket page currently shows adult admission from CNY 238; confirm the ticket type, price and eligible date before buying.

Make the hot spring its own stop

If you are visiting only for the pools, allow about 2–3 hours and leave time to arrive, change and move between areas. If you plan to come after visiting the North Slope, first confirm transport between your mountain exit and the hotel entrance, as well as the last admission time. Use only pools included in that day's visitor arrangement.

Build your day

Short visit for day guests | follow the facilities open that day

At the hotel front desk, confirm the day ticket, entry procedure and renovation closures before entering the pools open to visitors. Plan your soak around the indoor or outdoor areas that are operating. Ask when buying the ticket whether robes, towels, lockers and dining are included.

After a North Slope visit | allow time to leave the mountain

After finishing your North Slope route, confirm the day's mountain exit, last transport and the hotel entrance available to day guests before deciding whether to continue to the hot spring. The hotel pools are not on the Tianchi or waterfall trails. Do not treat the Julong Hot Spring Group inside the mountain as part of the hotel's pool ticket.

Overnight stay | check whether the room rate includes the pools

The hotel website lists hot-spring access for guests, and IHG describes it as unlimited during the stay. When booking, check your room type and package, and confirm which facilities are operating during renovation. If you plan to visit the North Slope the next day, allow time for both the overnight stay and the mountain entry schedule.

Get there

Navigate to the Crowne Plaza by the North Gate

The hotel is in Chibei District, Erdaobaihe Town, Antu County, near the North Gate of the Changbai Mountain protection and development area. The hotel website estimates about a 13-minute walk to the North Slope gate. This walking estimate does not replace the designated visitor-centre and shuttle arrangements shown on your mountain ticket. Ask before arrival whether the hotel reception and hot-spring entrance use the same door, and which entrance day guests should use during renovation. Hotel switchboard and transport enquiries: 0433-6076888.

Transfer from Changbaishan Station or the mountain exit

The hotel page describes a pick-up and drop-off service from Changbaishan Railway Station. Confirm whether day-ticket visitors can use it, whether it costs extra and whether a reservation is required. The North Slope shuttle and town buses are not hotel transfers. If the hotel service is not available to day guests, arrange a taxi or ride-hailing car.

Know before you go

Get a list of open pools before buying a ticket

The pool renovation is scheduled for September 15–October 31, 2026, but the planned dates do not confirm that work is complete or that the whole hotel is closed. Before buying, ask whether day guests are being admitted, which pools are open and what the last entry time is. Do not plan transport or accommodation around older hours.

Confirm swimwear, storage and children's rules

Bring your own swimwear and check whether your day ticket includes towels, slippers and locker use. Confirm the children's splash pool hours and any age or height restrictions. If travelling with children or carrying large bags, contact the hotel in advance. Hotel guest benefits do not automatically apply to day-ticket visitors.

Check winter access to outdoor pools and dining

To use an outdoor pool, you will need to walk to and from the changing area. In cold weather, bring warm clothing and non-slip sandals. If you plan to eat after your soak, check which hotel restaurants are open that day or make other arrangements in town.
