Shared pass and two entrances
Chunwan Stone Forest is in Chunwan Town, Yangchun. The Stone Forest entrance is the main entrance, while Dragon Palace Cave is beside the car park across the road. One pass covers both attractions: the on-site ticket is CNY 40, while online channels may list CNY 30–36. The pass covers two separate entrances and check-in points, not two unrelated parks.
The area usually opens 08:00–17:30, with Dragon Palace Cave stopping entry at about 17:00. No reservation is normally needed. Allow 1.5–2 hours for the Stone Forest alone, or 2.5–3 hours for both attractions. If you arrive in the afternoon, check the cave’s final entry before starting.
How the two attractions differ
The Stone Forest is an outdoor landscape of rock formations, steps, and viewpoints. Dragon Palace Cave is a shorter, mostly level, one-way cave route. The shared pass makes a combined visit possible, but the entrances are different and the cave does not require the Stone Forest’s climb.

Page Gate and the hill viewpoints
Page Gate is the Stone Forest’s main formation, with tall, flat rock faces arranged along the hillside. After seeing it from ground level, decide whether to climb Guanyin Mountain. The summit is about 154 metres high and takes around 30 minutes to reach; Lion Mountain is steeper, and many visitors can stop partway without losing the main view.
The Lotus Meadow and surrounding peaks are useful places to rest and take photos when the seasonal planting is in good condition. Extra viewpoints and transport services may cost more; choose them according to your energy and the time left in the day.
Who it suits
The Stone Forest suits geology enthusiasts, families, and self-drive visitors. There are steps and narrow paths, so a stroller is inconvenient. If someone in your group cannot climb, stay with Page Gate, the free viewing pavilions, and the ground-level formations.
Build your day
A 1.5–2 hour Stone Forest route
Enter through the Stone Forest gate, visit Page Gate, continue through Lotus Meadow, and either climb Guanyin Mountain or stay at the ground-level viewpoints before returning. Steps, slopes, and heat affect walking time, so shorten the climb in the afternoon.
If you are not visiting Dragon Palace Cave, keep your pass safe and confirm the return route to the car park. The glass walkway, small train, and other optional services are not required to complete the Stone Forest visit.
A 2.5–3 hour Stone Forest and cave route
Start at the Stone Forest entrance, visit Page Gate and Guanyin Mountain, then walk about 15 minutes to the Dragon Palace Cave entrance across the road for a separate check-in. The cave takes about one hour. In the afternoon, check the final entry time before committing to the combination.
The two entrances are separate, so keep the pass and expect two checks. If a companion cannot climb, use the cave’s level route and the Stone Forest’s ground viewpoints instead of forcing the full hill route.
Get there
High-speed rail and driving
A taxi from Yangchun Station to Chunwan Scenic Area usually takes about 50 minutes. You can also travel to Chunwan Station and walk or transfer locally. By car, navigate to “Chunwan Scenic Area Stone Forest” or the main car park; use parking and charging facilities according to the signs.
Parking and moving between entrances
After parking, confirm where the Stone Forest and Dragon Palace Cave entrances are. They are across the road and about 15 minutes apart on foot. Do not drive into the old street, walking route, or scenic area to search for a second entrance.
Know before you go
Time, steps, and strollers
Dragon Palace Cave stops entry at about 17:00. If you want both attractions, aim to arrive at the Stone Forest by 15:00. Steps and narrow paths are not stroller-friendly; with young children, plan to carry them or use the short route.
The cave floor can be wet, so wear shoes with good grip. Choose the cave, the hill, and any optional facility according to your group’s energy rather than forcing every part into one ticket.
Food and optional spending
Supplies inside the attraction are limited. Bring water and a small snack, then eat in Chunwan Town after the visit. The glass walkway, small train, and other facilities may be separate purchases; check the price, opening, and physical requirements before deciding.
