How to Visit
1

Decide whether the route suits your fitness

Bowang Mountain is not an easy city park. The main experience includes mountain paths, stone steps, caves, waterfalls, and a long walk. Before entering, choose a lighter route or a deeper hiking route.

Tip:Do not let the idea of a lesser-known scenic area make you underestimate the effort. The route can be tiring.
2

Put Feiwu Cave in the first half

Feiwu Cave is Bowang Mountain’s most recognizable sight. Leave time for the cave mouth, waterfall, mist, and mountain space, then decide whether to continue to Cyathea Valley, Dao Cave, and the lake area.

Tip:Cave and waterside areas can be slippery. While taking photos, keep watching your footing.
3

Use the sightseeing bus wisely

The scenic area is large, and the sightseeing bus can save some effort, but it does not stop wherever you wave. Ask at entry about stops, last bus time, and whether it covers your planned route.

Tip:If you miss the bus or walk the wrong direction, fixing the route later can cost a lot of energy.
4

Allow more than half a day

Even for the easier core route, allow around 3 hours. For a more complete route, 4-5 hours is safer.

Tip:If you need to catch a train or long-distance bus the same day, confirm return transport before focusing on the hiking route.
Highlights
  • Feiwu Cave is Bowang Mountain’s strongest visual feature, combining cave, waterfall, and mist.
  • Cyathea Valley adds plant and stream scenery, giving the route more variety than a simple climb.
  • Dao Cave, layered rock textures, and cave routes show the area’s karst landform clearly.
  • Shoushan Lake and bamboo areas are better for slowing down instead of rushing the whole route.
  • Bowang Mountain suits visitors who like hiking and natural scenery, not those who only want a quick photo stop.
Insider Tips

Wear grippy sports shoes or hiking shoes. Cave areas, waterfall edges, and stone steps can all be slippery.

Bring a light layer even in summer, because caves and valleys can feel cooler than outside.

Carry water and a small snack, since supply points inside the scenic area may not be dense.

With older travelers or children, choose the lighter route and do not force the full hiking route.

After rain, waterfalls may have more water, but the paths are also more slippery. Put safety before photos.
