How to Visit
1

Choose your transport first

Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea is large, and the sights are spread out. Self-driving is much easier than trying to walk everywhere or find taxis between stops. Without a car, use the scenic-area transport to connect the core sights.

Tip:If you plan to drive inside the area, check the same-day vehicle entry and reservation rules before leaving. Holiday controls can change the route.
2

Compress the core route into one day

For a first visit, plan around Wangyou Valley, Emerald Gallery, Guanhai Tower, Colorful Waterfall, and Haizhonghai. Start with bamboo forest walks and viewpoints, then leave time for water scenery and optional bamboo-raft activities.

Tip:A 24-hour scenic area does not mean every paid item runs all day. Cableways, rafts, skywalks, and internal transport keep their own hours.
3

Leave enough time for the bamboo sea

Even if you only cover the main sights, allow 5-7 hours. If you want slower photos, a bamboo-themed meal, or a night inside the area, two days will feel much easier.

Tip:This is not a quick gate-and-photo stop. Underestimating the area size and the distance between sights will make the day rushed.
4

Avoid peak holiday periods

During major holidays, parking, queues, and internal road traffic can take a lot of time. A normal weekday or low season visit is more reliable.

Tip:Food and add-on activity prices vary, so separate the entrance ticket, transport ticket, and optional project costs before buying.
Highlights
  • Emerald Gallery is one of the most representative bamboo-walk and photo spots, especially in the morning or softer light.
  • Guanhai Tower gives a wider view over the bamboo forest and helps you understand the size of the area.
  • Colorful Waterfall and Wangyou Valley are better for cool water scenery, especially in summer, but wet steps can be slippery.
  • Haizhonghai is a good place to treat bamboo rafting as an optional experience, not something that should control the whole day.
  • Bamboo shoots, bamboo fungus, and bamboo-themed meals are local specialties, but check prices clearly inside the scenic area.
Insider Tips

Do not pack Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea too tightly with central Yibin sights. Travel time and internal movement both take longer than expected.

Wear shoes with good grip, especially around bamboo paths, valleys, and waterfall areas.

If you only have one day, focus on the core sights instead of trying to tick off every small stop.

Parking and vehicle access depend on same-day management, especially during holidays.

In summer, prepare sun protection, mosquito repellent, and water. The bamboo forest has shade, but you will still walk a lot.
