Plan at a glance

An independent paid hot-spring resort

Mingyue Mountain Tianmu Hot Spring Resort is at 7 Jiangyuan North Road in Wentang Town, Yuanzhou District, Yichun. The bathing entrance is Hot Spring Valley inside the resort. The public hot-spring area usually operates from 13:00 to 23:00. Allow two to three hours for a short visit or three to four hours for a slower stay.

Tickets and products

Hot Spring Valley is a paid product, with packages around CNY 89–174 per person depending on the date and package contents. Hot Spring Valley admission, courtyard rooms with private pools and accommodation are separate products. The public foot bathing at Wentang Ancient Well is not included in a Tianmu ticket.

Choose your visit

Public pools in the wooded resort

The resort follows the hillside, with public pools spread among the trees. You can move between pools and take a forest walk. The number of pools available is not fixed; maintenance, weather and visitor volume can change the usable area. Read the poolside signs and choose another open area if a pool is cordoned off for maintenance.

Courtyard private pools and lodging

Courtyard hot-spring rooms provide a more private bathing space for visitors who value privacy or plan to stay overnight. When booking, check separately whether the room price includes Hot Spring Valley admission, private-pool facilities and a usage period.

Choosing the pace

The resort suits visitors who want to spend half a day soaking, resting and walking around the grounds. Visitors who only want a free foot bath can stay in the Ancient Well area of Wentang Town. Weekdays are often quieter; holiday crowds can mean queues, and some pools may be closed.

A lakeside evening walk

The resort lake has a boardwalk and resting areas. Lanterns and hotel lights reflected on the water make the lakeside suitable for an evening walk and photographs. Keep the 23:00 Hot Spring Valley closing time and the day's accessible areas in mind.

Build your day

Short soak | about 2–3 hours

Enter through Hot Spring Valley and check the pools open for the day. Start in the central public area; if it is crowded, follow the internal path farther into the resort and choose an open pool with more space. After soaking, return to the entrance area to change and leave. The pools do not form a fixed route that you need to complete.

Slower visit | about 3–4 hours

Choose a weekday and enter around the 13:00 opening. Start with the pools farther inside, then pause between the public pools according to how you feel. The pools are on sloping ground, so add time for rest and changing when travelling with older adults or children. Walk along the wooded paths afterwards and return to the Hot Spring Valley entrance; if fewer pools are open, shorten the soak and use the remaining time for a meal in Wentang.

Get there

Reaching Hot Spring Valley

A taxi from Yichun Railway Station to the resort takes about 40 minutes; from Yichun Mingyueshan Airport it takes about 50 minutes. Drivers should navigate to “Tianmu Jiangxi Mingyue Mountain Hot Spring Hotel”, then follow signs inside the resort to Hot Spring Valley. The hotel has parking; accommodation parking rules and hot-spring tickets are separate matters.

Moving inside the resort

Paid electric carts run between the hot-spring and accommodation areas. You can also walk about 15–20 minutes along the hillside road. After soaking, use the cart if you are tired or the path is wet. If you walk, return by the lit resort route.

Know before you go

Opening, booking and pool availability

Advance booking is usually not needed on weekdays, but buying ahead is sensible during holidays. The number of open pools changes with maintenance, weather and visitor volume. Check the ticket type and usable areas for your date before purchase, then follow the poolside signs after arrival.

Hot-spring safety

Soak for about 10 minutes at a time, then get out, rest and drink water. Stand up slowly, and do not soak on an empty stomach or after drinking alcohol. People who are pregnant or have cardiovascular conditions should follow medical advice. Leave the pool immediately if you feel dizzy, have chest tightness or palpitations, or otherwise feel unwell. Hot springs are leisure facilities, not medical treatment.

Food and holiday conditions

Dining inside the resort is limited. Eat in Wentang before soaking, or return to the town centre afterwards for places such as Houzi Restaurant (猴子餐厅), Yungu Chuhuang (云姑厨皇), also known as Quanyue Chaihuozao (泉月柴火灶). Addresses, hours and dishes can change. Holidays may bring crowds, longer waits for pools and changes to facilities or usable areas; choose a weekday and check the contents of your package if you want a quieter visit.
