Location, access and opening hours
Jintai Temple sits at the foot of Huangyang Mountain in Doumen District. The main mountain gate is the usual entrance, and entry is free; special dates such as the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month may require a reservation.
The temple is generally open 7:30am-5:30pm and opens at 6:30am on the first and fifteenth lunar days. Arrive before 9am or after 3pm for lighter crowds and better light.

A 1.5-2 hour route
Walk from the car park through the long bridge and boardwalk, passing the yellow wall reflected in water and Mingjing Bridge. Continue to the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Mahavira Hall before returning downhill.
A 2.5-3 hour first visit
Start at the mountain gate and release pond, then visit the Hall of Heavenly Kings for Wangbao Reservoir views and the Mahavira Hall. Continue uphill to Peacock Buddha Mother Hall, the reservoir viewpoint and the lakeside path.
A morning photography route
For mist and reflections, arrive between 6am and 8am and use the mountain gate, lake edge and wishing-tree area. This is easiest by car and needs extra time for parking and the uphill walk.

Water views and temple halls
The yellow wall beside the water is best photographed on clear mornings, when reflections are strongest. Mingjing Bridge can be photographed front-on for the full bridge or from the side for depth.
The Hall of Heavenly Kings overlooks Wangbao Reservoir; visit the Mahavira Hall before continuing uphill so that the steeper section comes later in the route.
Upper halls and the lakeside return
Peacock Buddha Mother Hall is higher up and gives a wider view over the surrounding landscape. Continue through the reservoir viewpoint and lakeside path for a slower return; the wishing tree is useful for side-lit photographs.
Get there
Driving is easiest
Drive to Jintai Temple car park, where parking is free. The lower car park can be congested at weekends; the outer car park requires a longer walk but can avoid part of the queue.
Bus access
Take K4 from central Zhuhai to Jintai Temple stop. Alternatively, change at Doumen Terminus to L6, L7 or 411, then walk about 15 minutes to the temple.
Know before you go
Dress, incense and temple etiquette
Avoid sleeveless tops, shorts and short skirts; clothing should cover the knees, and scarves can be rented at the entrance for CNY 10. The temple provides three incense sticks free of charge, but bring some cash because on-site payment does not support scanning.
Keep your phone silent, do not photograph Buddha statues inside halls and do not step on thresholds. Drones are prohibited at the religious site.
Mosquitoes, water and food
Bring insect repellent, long sleeves and long trousers. There is no water sales point on the mountain, so carry water and snacks; the vegetarian hall usually serves lunch from 11am to 1pm for CNY 15, but it can sell out.
Doumen Old Street, Yu Hot Springs, Jiexiazhuang, Huangyang River Wetland and Baitengtou Seafood Market can be added to a self-drive day.
