Location, entrance and opening hours
Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is in Fuxiang Bay, Hengqin Town, Xiangzhou District, near Hengqin Port. The South Gate is the main entrance and opens onto Ocean Avenue; drivers should use P2 car park, while guests at the resort hotels receive parking benefits.
Standard admission is CNY 395 per person and holiday admission is CNY 450. Buy at least one day ahead and enter using your ID. The park usually operates from 10am to 8pm; resort-hotel guests can enter from 9am.
How much time to allow
This is a full-day theme park. First-time visitors should allow eight to ten hours; even a shorter visit needs around six hours. It suits families, couples, animal-exhibit visitors and ride fans, but it is not realistic to combine it with several other Hengqin stops on the same day.

A six-hour route
Enter at 10am and begin with Whale Shark Aquarium, then visit the Underwater Interactive Boat, Beluga Theatre, Parrot Coaster, 5D Castle Theatre and Dolphin Theatre. Stay for the 7:15pm night parade and 8pm fireworks if your schedule allows.
An eight- to ten-hour first visit
After opening, go to Whale Shark Aquarium, the Underwater Interactive Boat, Polar Bear Habitat, Penguin Habitat and the Iceberg Coaster. Continue with Beluga Theatre, Sea Lion Theatre, Dolphin Theatre, 5D Castle Theatre, Rainforest Lift and Parrot Coaster. Follow the park counter-clockwise to reduce backtracking.
A lower-intensity family route
Arrive around 12:30pm to avoid the opening rush. Start with Whale Shark Aquarium, then use Dolphin Island, Dream Carousel, Dolphin Theatre and 5D Castle Theatre before the evening parade and fireworks.
Build your day
Start with the indoor animal halls
Whale Shark Aquarium is the key indoor stop; visit at opening or after about 5pm if you want to avoid part of the crowd. Continue to Polar Bear Habitat and Penguin Habitat before the outdoor rides; Penguin Habitat is cool indoors, so bring a light layer.
Fit theatres and rides around the day
Plan Beluga, Sea Lion and Dolphin theatres around the day's showtimes instead of simply following the map. For Beluga Theatre, the middle of rows three to five gives a useful view; the right side of Dolphin and Sea Lion theatres is better for interaction and photos.
Use the Parrot Coaster, Iceberg Coaster and Super Flume later in the afternoon when queues may ease. The 5D Castle Theatre runs about every 30 minutes, so allow time to queue before a showing.
Use a second day for Hengqin
Ocean Kingdom works best as a full day on its own. If you are staying in Hengqin for two days, put Hengqin Flower Sea Corridor on another day for cycling, picnicking or sunset rather than trying to add it after the park.
Get there
Rail, bus and driving
Zhuhai Chimelong Railway Station is the easiest rail arrival; the park is a short walk from the station. You can also arrive at Zhuhai Railway Station and transfer to a dedicated shuttle bus. Buses including K10, 14 and 86 serve the park; drivers should use P2 car park.
Arrival and departure
Use the South Gate as the main entrance for the Ocean Avenue and Whale Shark Aquarium route. After the fireworks, wait about 10-15 minutes before leaving if possible; this can reduce the taxi and bus rush.
Know before you go
Security, rainwear and supplies
Security does not allow selfie sticks, tripods, self-heating hotpots, instant noodles, spray sunscreen or hydration products, glass bottles, or single drinks over 650 ml. Power banks up to 20,000 mAh are allowed.
Iceberg Coaster and Super Flume can leave you wet, so bring a substantial rain poncho. Food inside the park averages around CNY 70-80 per person; bring sealed snacks and an empty bottle for the free water points.
Queues, weather and children
Arriving after 10am can avoid part of the early rush; 12:30-1:30pm is a useful lunch window, and queues often shorten after 5pm. During holidays, use a fast pass only if the extra time saved matters to your plan.
There is considerable walking between theatres, animal halls and rides. Prioritise indoor halls, shows and rest breaks when travelling with young children instead of trying to complete every ride.
