Archways and overseas-Chinese architecture
The site retains two complete granite archways, with Chinese roofs, Roman columns and carved ornament. The Chen Fang Residence combines Roman arches, Chinese vase-shaped columns and Lingnan building details; its carved window frames reward a slower look.
Museum, camp and performance
The wax museum covers Chen Fang’s life in Hawaii and includes figures such as Yung Wing and Tang Shaoyi. Meixi Camp has around 4,000 square metres of lawn for tents, tea, barbecues and outdoor film events; set the route around the day’s face-changing performance.
Get there
Bus, taxi and parking
Take buses 26, 36 or 41 to Meixi Archways stop, then walk around 10 minutes. Xiangzhou LeGO cultural-tourism routes 1 and 3 also serve the area; taxis from Zhuhai Railway Station or Gongbei Port take around 20-30 minutes and cost about CNY 30.
Drive to Meixi Archways Tourist Area. The site car park can be free or discounted with admission, while Aoyuan Plaza offers three free hours.

Tickets, timing and comfort
Online electronic tickets can be CNY 15-18 cheaper than walk-up admission. Arrive before 10am or after 4pm to avoid tour groups; bring sun protection, mosquito repellent and non-slip shoes because the square has little shade and some stone paths can be slippery.
The family cemetery is deeper inside the site beside the camping area, so visitors who prefer not to visit it can bypass that section.
Food and nearby culture stops
Food inside is limited; Aoyuan Plaza and nearby restaurants are more practical for lunch. Gu Yuan Art Museum, Zhuhai Putuo Temple, New Yuanming Palace and Xiangshan Lake Park can form a wider cultural half-day or day route.
