The old-city district is free to walk around. Afternoon to evening works well: old lanes in daylight, snacks and lights after dark.
Tip:This is not a gated ancient town. Shops, restaurants, and small exhibition spaces keep their own hours.

Walk Rulin Road and the side lanes first
Rulin Road keeps stone paving, old wooden houses, and narrow lanes, which are useful for seeing daily life in old Anshun.
Tip:Do not only take photos on the main street. The side lanes show more of the district's local feel.

Put the Confucian Temple and Martial Temple on the same route
The Confucian Temple is best for stone carving and dragon columns, while the Martial Temple shows the old-city layout of culture and military tradition facing each other.
Tip:Both places are compact, so linking them is smoother than visiting either one as a separate trip.
