A living village
Jinjiang Wooden House Village is a small, inhabited village in Manjiang Town, Fusong County, Baishan. The settlement stretches in a long strip and has about 50 log-built homes. You can observe the village layout and wooden architecture; check in advance which public areas are open to visitors that day.
The wooden construction and village layout are the main points of interest
The houses feature timber walls, wooden-shingle roofs and log chimneys. Records also document repairs to homes, stone-paved lanes, drainage ditches, retaining walls and wooden boardwalks. These details help put the village's conservation work in context, but they do not mean every courtyard is open to visitors. Stay on roads and paths that are open and follow signs.
A slow walk for village and architecture enthusiasts
This is a good stop for visitors interested in traditional villages, vernacular architecture and documentary photography. Walk along roads that are open to the public and observe the houses and their setting. If you plan to visit other places that day, arrange round-trip transport first, then decide how long to stay based on the areas open.

Choose your visit
Look at the houses from roads open to visitors
About 50 homes have timber walls, wooden-shingle roofs and log chimneys. Notice how the log walls are built and how the houses are arranged. Which buildings retain their original features and which have been repaired can only be judged by what is visible on site; do not assume that furnishings shown in old photos are still there.
Use conservation information to understand the village
The wooden houses and public facilities in Jinjiang Village have documented conservation and repair work. Watch for conservation signs, and do not climb on or touch wooden structures or enter courtyards without permission.
Photograph the village without disturbing residents
This is a lived-in village, and the courtyards are not public exhibition spaces. Photograph house exteriors from roads where visitors are allowed. Do not photograph interiors, photograph residents without permission or enter private spaces. If you see barriers, construction work or a clear no-entry sign, stay in the open area instead of looking for another photo spot.
Build your day
Check where you can walk after arrival
When you arrive, read the entrance notices or ask the local host which roads, boardwalks and areas are currently open. Then follow the on-site directions for your walk and return.
Check transport if combining the village with Huamei Resort
Jinjiang Wooden House Village and Changbai Mountain Huamei Resort can be included in the same regional trip. If you are travelling from the resort or returning there the same day, arrange a vehicle in advance and check road conditions, parking and visitor arrangements at your next stop.
Plan your stay around the open areas
Decide how long to stay based on the open roads and your needs for photography and rest. If only part of the village is open, walk the permitted route and return the same way at your agreed time. Stay out of closed areas and do not look for an unofficial trail.
Get there
Confirm the map pin before setting out
Set your destination to Jinjiang Village (锦江村) in Manjiang Town (漫江镇), Fusong County. Before leaving, ask your accommodation or local host about road access for the final stretch and where to park.
Arrange the outbound and return rides
If travelling from the resort, a railway station or a town outside the area, book a vehicle and agree on pickup and return times, locations and waiting arrangements. Be sure to confirm where you will meet the driver after your visit.
Park and continue on foot as directed
Follow on-site directions for vehicle access and visitor parking. After parking, walk along roads open to visitors. If village roads are restricted or under construction, do not drive into residential areas or stop in the road for photos.
Know before you go
Confirm visitor access and contact details for the day
Before setting out, ask the local host whether the public visitor area is open, whether temporary restrictions are in place, where to park and what payments may apply. A 2025 Jilin tourism itinerary lists the village contact number as 15143909728; confirm that it is still active before calling.
The village is protected as a traditional settlement
Jinjiang Wooden House Village was included in China's second batch of traditional villages in 2013. Local records document conservation work on the houses and public facilities. The timber walls, wooden-shingle roofs and log chimneys offer a way to see traditional wooden-house construction in the Changbai Mountain region.
Protect residents' space and wooden structures
Residents live here, and some wooden houses and public facilities are protected. Keep to the boardwalks rather than walking across the forest floor. Do not climb onto roofs, move timber or enter unattended houses. If an area is closed, under construction or restricted because of weather, follow local instructions and adjust or end your visit rather than finding another way in.
