How to Visit
1

Treat Huawu as the best-known section of Wujiang River Source Gallery

Huawu Scenic Area is in Xinren Miao Township, Qianxi City. The core views are Huawu Village, Wujiang canyon, Yachi River Bridge, and the viewpoints. Entry to the area is generally free. Budget CNY 50-60 for a short boat ride, with the Huawu Pier to Yachi River Bridge round trip taking about 1 hour.

Tip:This place is not about a big entrance ticket. Weather, viewpoints, and transport order matter more.
2

Go to the viewpoints first, then the pier

For a first visit, start from the upper viewpoints for the Wujiang bend, Yachi River Bridge, and full view of Huawu Village. If the weather is good and you have enough time, then go down to Huawu Pier for a boat ride.

Tip:The upper viewpoints already give a complete view. You do not have to drive down to the pier to make the visit worthwhile.
3

Self-driving is convenient, but do not underestimate the mountain road

Driving from Guiyang or Qianxi is fairly smooth, but the final section down to the river has many bends and steep slopes. Holidays can bring traffic jams and tight parking.

Tip:New drivers can stop around the upper viewpoint area instead of squeezing down to the riverside.
4

Do not mix it up with the Zhijin-side gallery

Huawu is the Qianxi-side highlight section. The Zhijin-side Wujiang River Source Gallery is closer to Zhijin Cave, and the two sides are about 1 hour apart by car.

Tip:For navigation, search directly for Huawu Village or Wujiang River Source Gallery Huawu Scenic Area, not just "Baili Gallery."
Highlights
  • Huawu Village, Wujiang canyon, and Yachi River Bridge create a strong first view.
  • Upper viewpoints are best for seeing the wide river bend and canyon scale.
  • Boat rides from Huawu Pier give closer views of the cliffs on both sides.
  • The village is useful for Miao embroidery, sour-soup fish, or Wujiang fish.
  • It is better than the Zhijin side if your goal is the classic Wujiang River Source Gallery viewpoint experience.
Insider Tips

Sunny days give better water color; rainy days can look atmospheric, but visibility is weaker.

Boat rides may require waiting for enough passengers or scheduled departures, so do not make your return time too tight.

Supplies along the route are limited, so prepare water first.

On holidays, arrive early to avoid getting stuck on the downhill road.

It can be windy by the river and at the viewpoints, so bring a jacket in spring and autumn.
