How to Visit

Decide based on boat, caves, and skylight beams
Jiudongtian's core experience is the karst underground river and connected cave chambers. Budget CNY 80 for the ticket, CNY 20 for the sightseeing bus, and CNY 60 for a one-way boat ticket. Common opening hours are 08:30-16:30.
Tip:If boats are suspended that day because of water level or dredging work, Jiudongtian becomes much less compelling.

Use the West Gate route for a first visit
West Gate in and West Gate out suits most visitors. Take the sightseeing bus to the core area, ride the boat through the underground river and cave chambers, then return the same way. The whole visit takes about 3-4 hours and does not require a complicated route.
Tip:With older visitors or children, do not attempt the East Gate exit or a long walking route.

Midday is better for skylight beams
The most memorable part of Jiudongtian is sunlight entering through cave skylights. On clear days, the late morning to early afternoon window is more likely to show visible light beams. Rainy days are still visitable, but the photos and light effects are weaker.
Tip:Do not wait too late for one beam of light; the last sightseeing bus and return transport matter more.

Do not treat the walking route and boat route as one full loop
The walking route and boat route are not a simple loop. If you want to walk deeper through cave chambers, Shihua Valley, and plank paths, leave separate time and energy.
Tip:If you still need to continue to Baili Azalea or Bijie city that day, do not overpack the visit.
