How to Visit

First decide whether you want nature only or Xianyutun projects
Youshan River Scenic Area is large. Budget CNY 30 for the basic ticket. If you want Xianyutun glass walkway and cableway projects, prepare around CNY 120 for the combined experience. Common opening hours are 08:30-17:30.
Tip:Buying only the main ticket and adding the glass walkway or cableway are very different visits, both in cost and effort.

Prioritize Xianyutun on a first visit
If time is limited, focus on Xianyutun. Walk the glass walkway, see Xianyu Peak, then decide whether to use the cableway based on your energy. It is a better first stop than Xiangshui River, Nantianmen, or Cuisuba.
Tip:Youshan River is not a small park, so do not expect to cover every section in half a day.

Do not underestimate the slopes
The glass walkway includes downhill sections, and the cableway saves some climbing, but this is not a no-walking visit. Xianyu Peak still requires some uphill walking, and rainy days make the paths more slippery.
Tip:If you want an easier visit, choose fewer projects. If you want the wide views, accept that your legs will work.

Avoid undeveloped areas
Some valleys, river sections, and wild paths around Youshan River are not suitable for visitors, especially undeveloped areas such as Liangcha River, Sancha River, and Beihan Valley.
Tip:Do not enter wild paths just for empty photos. Mountain rescue is difficult and not worth the risk.

- Xianyu Peak and canyon views are the most direct highlights of Youshan River.
- The glass walkway is useful for looking into the canyon walls and peak forest.
- The cableway reduces some climbing and gives another angle over the valley.
- Xiangshui River waterfalls, Nantianmen, and Cuisuba are better for visitors with a car and more time.
- Coming from Dafang County or the Baili Azalea direction is smoother than forcing it into a short half-day from Bijie city.

✦The scenic sections are spread out, so self-driving or hiring a car is more efficient.
✦If you only want an easy scenic stop, do not buy every project.
✦Mountain weather changes quickly, and fog can weaken the view from Xianyu Peak.
