Location and grounds

Wuqiao Acrobatics World (吴桥杂技大世界) is in Wuqiao County, Cangzhou. Enter through the South Gate (南门) and make Jianghu Cultural City (江湖文化城) the focus of your visit. Guishou Ju (鬼手居), the Jianghu Grand Theater (江湖大剧院) and the smaller stages each have their own performances, so use the day’s program to plan your stops.

Tickets and opening hours

An adult ticket for Jianghu Cultural City is CNY 120. Students and visitors aged 60–69 can buy half-price tickets for CNY 60 with eligible proof of age or student status. Children under 1.2 m and visitors aged 70 or over enter free. If your Cultural City ticket allows same-day re-entry, follow the terms printed on the ticket. The Jianghu Grand Theater requires a separate ticket, with seats listed at CNY 100–360.

Jianghu Cultural City is open 08:30–17:30 from March through October and 08:30–17:00 from November through February. Allow 3–4 hours for the main shows, or a full day if you want to catch more of the rotating performances and both major shows.

Choose your visit

Small stages in Jianghu Cultural City

The Cultural City recreates the atmosphere of a Tianqiao-style entertainment district from the late Qing and early Republican period. More than ten open-air stages present traditional acrobatics in rotation. Dafu Di (大福地) focuses on magic, while Wuqiao Wharf (吴桥码头) and Tianqiao acrobatics (天桥把式) offer other styles of performance. The number of shows you can see depends on that day’s schedule.

Guishou Ju and the Jianghu Grand Theater

At Guishou Ju, the “Three Immortals Return to the Cave” (三仙归洞) routine is a close-up sleight-of-hand performance. The Jianghu Grand Theater presents the indoor acrobatic show Jianghu (《江湖》), with aerial acrobatics and theatrical lighting and sound. Choose it if you want a full-scale stage production.

Who will enjoy it

The park suits visitors interested in acrobatics and traditional performing arts, as well as families with children and student groups. Most shows are outdoors, and moving between stages involves standing and walking. If you only want to see one or two performances, pick the stages that interest you most and allow around 3–4 hours.

Build your day

A 3–4-hour highlights route

Enter through the South Gate. If the opening ceremony (开城大典) is scheduled, check its posted time first. Then plan around the day’s program, leaving time for entry at Guishou Ju, choosing a Jianghu Grand Theater show, and selecting three or four smaller stages such as Dafu Di and Wuqiao Wharf. Showtimes may overlap or change, so check the program after arrival and set your order then.

A relaxed full-day visit

In the morning, follow the rotating performances through Jianghu Cultural City and choose the small stages you most want to see. Have lunch in the park or in Wuqiao County. In the afternoon, visit Guishou Ju according to its reservation or walk-in arrangements, then attend a separately ticketed show at the Jianghu Grand Theater. Use the gaps between performances to walk around and take a break.

Leaving and nearby stops

Before leaving, follow the park’s exit signs. If you parked by the East Gate (东门), check that the return route leads back to the parking area. With extra time, visit the Wuqiao Acrobatics Museum (吴桥杂技博物馆) across from the park or stop at the Grand Canal Park (大运河公园) in town; both are separate from the main attraction.

Get there

Train, car and parking

From Cangzhou West Railway Station, you can transfer to a tourist shuttle. Alternatively, take a regular train to Wuqiao Station and continue by taxi; the fare is approximately CNY 10–15. A shared electric bike takes about 10 minutes. For drivers, navigate to Wuqiao Acrobatics World. Free parking is available by the East Gate. The drive from Beijing or Tianjin takes about two hours, depending on traffic.

Getting around inside

The performance venues in Jianghu Cultural City are close enough to connect on foot. Many stages are outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes for walking and standing.

Know before you go

Showtimes, reservations and photography

The opening ceremony (开城大典) is often scheduled around 09:00, but this and other showtimes can change. Check the day’s program after entering. During holidays and peak periods, reserve a seat at Guishou Ju through the “Wuqiao Acrobatics World” WeChat public account. On quieter weekdays, the park may switch to a first-come, first-served queue. Advance seat selection is recommended for popular Grand Theater shows on holidays. Photography and video recording are prohibited inside Guishou Ju; follow posted signs elsewhere.

Weather, food and nearby stops

Most performances take place outdoors, so rain and temperature can affect how comfortable it is to watch. In spring, blooming crabapple trees add color to photos of the towers, streets and small-stage shows. Photography and video are prohibited inside Guishou Ju. Holiday crowds can be heavy; if your schedule is flexible, consider an ordinary weekend.

Lunch is available in the park or in Wuqiao County. In town, look for Lao Chen Shaobing (老陈烧饼家), Beihuan Lao Lü Jia (北环老吕家) for shaobing (烧饼) and tofu pudding (豆腐脑), Chang Si Baozi (常四包子), lüyóu hézi (驴油盒子), a local savory pastry, and hotpot chicken (火锅鸡). Businesses set their own hours. The Wuqiao Acrobatics Museum (吴桥杂技博物馆) across from the park is free to visit and requires a reservation.
