What you will see

China Dinosaur Park is at 60 Hehai East Road in Xinbei District, Changzhou, with the main gate beside Dino Water Town. It suits families, visitors who enjoy large amusement rides, and anyone who wants to combine dinosaur fossils, immersive attractions and evening shows in one day. A quick route takes about 4–5 hours; first-time visitors who want several zones and shows should allow a full day, or split the visit over two days in peak season.

The park combines thrill rides, immersive experiences, dinosaur education and night activities. 4D Roller Coaster, Jurassic Crossing, the Dinosaur Gene Research Center and the China Dinosaur Museum have different pacing. After entering, handle the longest queues first, then use the indoor museum and evening programmes later in the day.

Tickets and choosing your day

The usual online advance price for an adult full-day ticket is about CNY 220–230; the reference on-site price is CNY 260. A night ticket for entry after 16:00 is about CNY 99–109. Child and senior tickets, free-entry height and age conditions, and summer activities vary separately, so confirm the ticket type against your group and visit date.

Regular reference hours are 09:00–17:00 on weekdays and may extend to 21:00 from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays. Night sessions, programmes and facilities vary by date, so daytime attractions and evening shows should be planned as separate parts of the visit.

Thrill rides and water rides

4D Roller Coaster is a high-altitude spinning coaster whose seats move in several directions; the height requirement is about 1.4 metres or above. Crazy Fire Drill, Water and Fire Power, Sky Tower and Wings Flying High focus respectively on coaster, spinning, drop-tower and high-altitude experiences. Screen them by health and comfort before queuing rather than trying to ride everything.

Jurassic Crossing is a log-flume-style ride with a high drop and significant splashing; prepare a raincoat before boarding. The Dinosaur Gene Research Center uses an exploration vehicle, rainforest scenery and mechanical dinosaurs. It is less intense than the major coasters but may still include darkness, sound, lighting effects and sudden movement, so watch a section first if travelling with children.

Dinosaur education and family content

The China Dinosaur Museum is useful as an indoor section around midday or in hot weather, with real dinosaur fossils and large skeletons. For overseas visitors seeing Changzhou for the first time, it adds local geology and dinosaur knowledge beyond the amusement park and provides a rest between long queues.

King Kong is a mechanical gorilla-themed attraction with a height requirement of about 1.2 metres or above. The Magic Rainforest, Lubula and Kuksuk Canyon zones are better for walking through scenery. Families can make the museum, lower-intensity scenes and children's areas the main route, leaving thrill rides to companions who meet the height and health requirements.

Evening shows and photography

The parade and D Show fireworks-and-light performance are part of the day's programme and are commonly scheduled in the evening. Their time, route and whether they run depend on the programme sheet issued after entry. If you want an evening show, identify its location first, then arrange dinner, viewing position and the final ride.

The entrance plaza is good for photographing the park sign. Lubula's colourful buildings and dragon-fire stone sculptures work well in daylight, while the area around King Kong in Kuksuk Canyon suits portraits with large mechanical scenery. The castle and plaza are atmospheric after the night lights come on, but crowds also gather there.

Build your day

About 4–5 hours: quick route

Arrive at the main gate before opening. After entering, go first to 4D Roller Coaster in Kuksuk Canyon, then choose Crazy Fire Drill or Water and Fire Power according to the queue. Continue to the China Dinosaur Museum for shade and fossils, then Jurassic Crossing, and leave through the main gate or toward Dino Water Town.

This route focuses on major rides and the dinosaur museum rather than a full parade and evening show. Prepare a raincoat before Jurassic Crossing. If someone is sensitive to strong spinning, rapid drops or dark scenes, use the museum and scenery zones instead and reserve queue time for attractions that suit them.

One-day zone route

In the morning, handle key attractions in the Magic Rainforest and Lubula zones, then visit Jurassic Crossing, 4D Roller Coaster and Crazy Fire Drill. Have lunch in Lubula or Kuksuk Canyon, and use the hottest part of the day for indoor areas such as the China Dinosaur Museum.

In the afternoon, go to Kuksuk Canyon and choose Sky Tower, King Kong or Wings Flying High according to that day's operating status. In the evening, return to the China Dinosaur Museum or the parade avenue and check the day's parade and D Show schedule. Leave through the park exit or Dino Water Town after the programme.

Night-session plan

With a night ticket for entry after 16:00, use the afternoon to ride popular attractions and then choose the parade or D Show from the programme sheet. A night ticket does not cover every ride or performance; height limits, maintenance and programme changes follow the day's arrangements.

Get there

Metro and main gate

Take Metro Line 1 to Hehai Station, then walk or use a short local transfer to the main gate. Set the destination to “China Dinosaur Park Main Gate” or the entrance beside Dino Water Town. “Dinosaur Park Station” is not open yet; Hehai Station is the currently available rail stop.

The main gate is close to Dino Water Town. Distinguish the park ticket gates from the entrances to the surrounding commercial area. Dino Water Town works for food, shopping and a rest after leaving, but its facilities are not part of the dinosaur park's ride area.

Driving and preparation

Drivers can navigate to the underground car park at Dino Water Town. It has charging points; follow the signs to the park ticket area after parking. Parking fees and entrance routes follow the signs on the day.

The park is large, with substantial walking over a full day. Bring water, comfortable shoes and sun protection. Raincoats, a waterproof phone pouch and spare clothes are best prepared before the water ride rather than bought afterward.

Know before you go

Height, health and queues

Several rides have specific height, age or health restrictions. Check the latest entrance requirements before travelling with children. Visitors with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions, a history of vertigo or sensitivity to strong spinning should avoid high-intensity attractions such as Water and Fire Power and the Mystery Tornado; companions can split up to choose different rides.

Opening time is a good moment to start with popular rides. After 16:00, queues for some attractions may shorten, allowing night-session visitors to adjust their route. Single-rider lines on popular coasters can reduce waiting, but companions may need to ride separately.

Tickets, water and leaving the park

Adult day tickets, night tickets, child and senior tickets, and temporary event tickets are separate products. Some summer free-entry promotions for children require a reservation one day in advance and apply only to specific dates and conditions. Confirm the entry period, date of use and identification requirements for everyone in the group.

Bottled water is relatively expensive inside the park, but free drinking-water refill points are available in several areas; bring a water bottle. The visitor centre may offer exploration booklets and stamp activities, whose redemption items belong to the day's programme. Budget first for the ticket, rides and time needed.

Dino Water Town and Global Harbor nearby provide food and places to rest. For a full-day visit, plan the main meal, departure and return separately; crowds concentrate after programmes end, so leave enough time for the walk after exiting.
