What you will see

Yancheng Ruins Park is south of Changhong West Road in Wujin District, Changzhou. Its core feature is the Spring and Autumn-era layout of the “Three Cities and Three Rivers.” The park combines archaeological remains, natural scenery, a museum and open paths, and suits history and photography enthusiasts, families and visitors looking for a quiet walk.

A quick route takes about 1–2 hours. Allow 3–4 hours for the museum and a complete walk through the Three Cities and Three Rivers. The reference ticket is CNY 20 for adults and CNY 10 for seniors and children. Regular hours are about 08:30–17:00, with entry stopping at 16:30.

Use the West Gate

Set the destination to “Spring and Autumn Yancheng Ruins Park West Gate.” The East Gate mainly serves the neighbouring Spring and Autumn Amusement Land; arriving there may take you to another attraction's ticketing and entrance system. The ruins-park route is clearest from the West Gate.

Three Cities and Three Rivers

The Three Cities and Three Rivers consist of the outer, inner and central cities and three surrounding waterways. The overall layout is best understood from the water, grass, trees and earthen walls in the central area. What you see is the archaeological pattern within a natural setting, not a fully reconstructed palace complex.

Open or elevated areas show the layers of the three city walls. The lotus walkway and waterfront are also good photography sections in summer. The park is better suited to walking, birdwatching, boating and reading the terrain than to commercial performances.

Yancheng Museum and Bamboo-Wood Well

Allow about 30 minutes for Yancheng Museum, which displays excavated Spring and Autumn artefacts including a wooden boat, bronze objects and pottery. The red museum walls meet bamboo groves at a good photography point, and the museum provides an indoor stop during the outdoor ruins route.

Bamboo-Wood Well is an ancient Spring and Autumn well that still contains water, and works well toward the end of the route. The sculling boat costs extra; confirm the day's water conditions, queue and ticketing before boarding. It adds to the heritage experience but is not required for the walking route.

Build your day

About 1–2 hours: quick route

Enter through the West Gate, visit Yancheng Museum first, follow the main path to the Three Cities and Three Rivers area, continue to Bamboo-Wood Well, and return to the West Gate. This history-focused route suits visitors with limited time or those visiting the ruins park after the amusement land.

On hot days, visit the museum before the outdoor ruins. For water and grass photography, leave the Three Cities and Three Rivers section for softer light and carry drinking water.

About 3–4 hours: highlights route

Enter through the West Gate and spend about 30 minutes in the museum, then walk through the Three Cities and Three Rivers area and look across the water. Add the paid sculling boat if interested, continue to Bamboo-Wood Well, and finish with a slow walk and photos on the lawn and paths.

The ruins park has no night-tour programme. For Iron Flower, light shows or other night content, buy a night ticket for the neighbouring Spring and Autumn Amusement Land and enter through that park's gate; the return routes of the two attractions must also be treated separately.

Get there

Public transport and the West Gate

Take buses 14, 68 or 80 to Yancheng Bus Hub, then walk or transfer to the West Gate. You can also take Metro Line 1 to Yanzheng Avenue Station and transfer to Bus 68 or take a taxi to the West Gate. Walking directly from the metro station is not the preferred route.

Include “West Gate” in the destination. The East Gate mainly serves the Spring and Autumn Amusement Land; the names are similar, so check the gate area and ticket office before getting out.

Driving and conditions inside

The West Gate car park is free, but spaces are limited on holidays. The park is mainly on foot, with grass, earth paths and waterfront sections, so comfortable shoes are more suitable than formal footwear. Strollers may be difficult on some surfaces.

Food options inside are limited. Bring water and snacks, then use a nearby commercial street or a restaurant outside the neighbouring attractions after the visit; the ruins park is not a complete meal stop.

Know before you go

Tickets and attraction boundaries

The reference ticket is CNY 20 for adults and CNY 10 for seniors and children, and an online reservation is usually not required.

The ruins park and Spring and Autumn Amusement Land sell separate tickets. Visitors wanting a night visit, rides or Iron Flower should select the corresponding product at purchase rather than queue at the wrong ticket office and walk back.

Time, weather and walking

Regular hours are about 08:30–17:00, with entry stopping at 16:30 and clearing at 17:00. The ruins area is large and outdoors; use sun protection and drink water in summer. During thunderstorms, reduce time beside the water and on open lawns.

The focus here is the archaeological layout and ecological space, with a quiet walking pace. Visitors expecting reconstructed buildings, dense performances or nightlife should use the neighbouring Spring and Autumn Amusement Land for those experiences.
