What you will see
Tianmu Lake Hantian Hillside Hot Spring is at 88 Dongyuan Road in the Tianmu Lake Resort area of Liyang, Changzhou, inside Hantian Resort. It suits visitors wanting lake views, outdoor pools and a late-afternoon-to-evening break, as well as couples, friends and families. The hot spring entrance is not directly on the ordinary road; non-hotel guests need to go to the hot spring front desk to buy or validate tickets.
A quick route takes about two hours; a highlights route takes about 3–4 hours. Online platforms commonly list double packages around CNY 258 and family packages around CNY 399. Some hotel packages may include hot spring access; current products are mainly doubles, families and accommodation packages, while single tickets are less stable.
Pools and the rooftop infinity pool
The resort has several outdoor pools. The hilltop infinity pool is good for lake and sunset photos, but its water is at room temperature and it is mainly for views and photography. Use the lakeside, themed and indoor areas for hot-spring bathing.

Lakeside and themed pools
The lakeside pools overlook Tianmu Lake. Mahjong, guandan, hot-pot, rice-wine and red-wine pools suit visitors looking for relaxed social time. There is also a children's water-play area; families can start with the shallow area and then choose suitable adult pools.
The hot spring is on a hillside, with walking and climbs between outdoor pools. Visitors who prioritize scenery can start with the lakeside pools; those who want less walking can reduce the number of high or distant pools and use the indoor and nearby pools instead.
Hilltop infinity pool
The hilltop infinity pool has a “HENTIQUE” sign and suits lake, portrait and sunset photography. Its water is at room temperature and can feel distinctly cold in spring, autumn and winter, so it is mainly a photo and viewing area. If you enter the water, consider the day's temperature and your physical condition first.
Build your day
About two hours: quick route
After changing, go directly to the hilltop infinity pool for views and photos. Return to the lakeside area, choose 2–3 pools of interest, and finish in the indoor rest area. This handles the climbing viewpoint first and leaves the remaining time for bathing, making it suitable for a short afternoon visit.
Bring your own sandals and waterproof phone pouch if possible. Put your phone and valuables away after taking photos and before entering a pool, and avoid standing for long periods on wet paths.
About 3–4 hours: evening route
Arrive after about 15:00, photograph the lake from the high point, then follow the path down to the lakeside pool, mahjong or guandan pool, children's pool and hot-pot pool, finishing in the indoor area. This places sunset, lake views and evening bathing in one visit.
There is a climb between the hilltop and lower pools, so families and visitors with average mobility can omit one section. Vegetation and mosquitoes increase in summer; bring repellent for an evening visit.
Get there
Navigation, entrance and resort movement
Drive directly to “Hantian Resort”; parking at the resort is free. Non-hotel guests should go to the hot spring front desk to buy or validate admission. The hotel lobby and ordinary resort entrance are not the hot spring ticket checkpoint.
Hantian Resort is large and provides a free shuttle. The hot spring is on the hillside, so internal movement combines the shuttle, walking and slopes.
Liyang Station and the return
The resort is about 18 km from Liyang Station, with a reference taxi time of about 26 minutes. Ride-hailing cars may be difficult to get immediately outside holidays, so arrange the return vehicle in advance. Buses take longer and are not the preferred option for a first visit.
Driving takes about 2.5 hours from Shanghai and about 1.5 hours from Nanjing, subject to traffic and holiday congestion. Visitors without a car should not schedule the end of bathing too late, as finding a vehicle inside the resort area may take time.
Know before you go
Hours and ticket products
Reference hours are Monday–Friday 13:00–22:00 and Saturday–Sunday 10:00–22:00, with last entry at about 21:30. Online products commonly include double, family and accommodation packages. Child pricing changes by height: children below 80 cm are usually free, 80 cm–1.2 m references about CNY 29, and 1.2–1.4 m about CNY 98.
Confirm package inclusions and child policies for the date of purchase. Some hotel room types may include hot spring access, while non-hotel guests enter through online packages or on-site products.
Equipment, walking and water temperature
Bring a swimsuit, swim cap, waterproof phone pouch and necessary changes of clothes. The resort usually provides towels, slippers and toiletries. The hilltop pool is room temperature, and pool temperatures and outdoor weather affect the experience; in winter or spring/autumn, return to a warm area after taking photos.
The hot spring has hillside climbs, and visiting every pool requires some stamina. Bring mosquito repellent in summer. With children, identify the children's water-play area and rest point first, then choose the high pools.
Food and nearby combinations
The resort has several restaurants, but prices are relatively high. If you do not want a full meal inside, prepare simple food or eat at a nearby restaurant. Tianmu Lake fish-head casserole, black rice and stir-fried bamboo shoots are common local choices; restaurant hours and packages follow the day.
Nanshan Bamboo Sea is about 20–30 minutes away by car and Tianmu Lake Landscape Park about 20 minutes. They can be combined on the same day or on adjacent days. Their entrances, tickets and walking demands differ, while the hot spring works best in the second half of an attraction day as a rest stop.
