Plan at a glance
What you will see
Yancheng Safari Park is at 588 Wuyi Middle Road in Wujin District, Changzhou. The walking area is mainly entered through the East Gate, while the self-drive area has a separate ticket office. It suits families, animal watchers and visitors choosing between walking, the park train and a self-drive encounter.
A quick route through the walking area takes about 3–4 hours; a fuller walking-and-show route takes 6–8 hours. Hours are about 09:00–17:00, with the walking area stopping admission at 16:00. Adult tickets reference CNY 89–200, self-drive tickets CNY 199–230 per car, and the train CNY 20–50 per person; prices vary by season and product.
Choose walking, train or self-drive
An ordinary admission ticket does not automatically include the self-drive route or park train. The walking area is best for the red panda, small panda and multiple animal houses; the train serves the drive-through area; a self-drive ticket is for the self-drive route. Choose the transport mode first, then check the main and add-on tickets together.

Walking area and park train
The Red Panda House, Small Panda House, Panda House, African Elephant House and Giraffe House can be linked on foot. The small pandas can be viewed from an elevated walkway, while red panda and small panda activity varies with weather and time. Animal movements are natural and are not scheduled as fixed shows.
The pink retro train travels through the drive-through area and is an easier way to cover distance. Before boarding, confirm the departure, queue and whether the train is included in the ticket you bought. Feeding or animal interactions follow on-site management; do not put food through a fence on your own.
Self-drive encounters and shows
The self-drive area can bring you close to sika deer, alpacas and elephants, but the car requires a separate self-drive ticket. The International Circus normally costs extra. Free shows may include the Bear Kids Theatre, Animal Guest Show and Bird Adventure; times and sessions follow the day's programme.
Self-drive encounters are concentrated in the drive-through area. With young children, prioritize the animal nursery, Red Panda House and smaller interaction zones. The unpowered playground and Peacock Garden can serve as rest sections during a longer route.
Build your day
About 3–4 hours: quick route
Enter through the East Gate, visit the Red Panda House, take the train through the drive-through area, arrange the International Circus according to the day's session, then walk to the African Elephant House, Giraffe House and Panda House before returning to the East Gate. Train and show queues affect the route length.
This route suits first-time visitors who want the park's representative content. Food and rest points are limited, so carry water before entering the longer walking sections.
About 6–8 hours: highlights route
After entering through the East Gate, start with the Bear Kids Theatre or animal nursery, then visit the Red Panda House. Take the train into the drive-through area and arrange the International Circus according to its session. In the afternoon, continue to the African Elephant House, Kangaroo House, Giraffe House, Bailing Birds World and Panda House, then add the unpowered playground, Peacock Garden or a parade.
A long route is not suited to rushing through every house. Separate animal observation, shows and rest. For groups with children or older adults, include the cost of electric carts, rental vehicles and the train in the budget.
Self-drive route
Self-drive visitors should go directly to the self-drive ticket office and enter the drive-through area according to the signs. Keep a low speed during animal encounters, and follow staff instructions on windows and feeding. If animals approach the car, do not honk suddenly, accelerate or reach beyond the safe area.
After the self-drive section, visitors who still want the Red Panda House, Panda House and other walking-area venues should confirm how the vehicle exit connects to the walking area. A self-drive ticket covers the drive-through experience, not the full walking area.
Get there
Public transport and entrances
Take Metro Line 1 to Yanzheng Avenue Station, then transfer to another local service. You can also take a taxi from Changzhou Railway Station or Changzhou North Railway Station; the reference ride is about 30 minutes. Confirm whether the destination is the East Gate or the self-drive ticket office.
The East Gate is the main walking-area entrance and is more convenient for ordinary visitors and anyone collecting food outside the park. The self-drive area has a separate entrance; set the navigation target to “self-drive ticket office.”
Internal transport and parking
The walking area rents two-person and four-person electric carts at about CNY 80 per hour, with full-day options around CNY 200/400. A tiger-shaped mobility vehicle can travel through both the walking and drive-through areas, with a reference price of about CNY 100 per hour. Compare group size, walking distance and the return point before renting.
Self-drive tickets cover products for vehicles of up to 10 seats and are priced separately from admission. The park is next to Spring and Autumn Amusement Land, but their parking and entrances are not identical; follow the actual exit when returning.
Know before you go
Tickets, reservations and shows
Adult admission, car tickets, the train and the International Circus are separate products. Children under 1.2 metres are usually free, but child height, show seating and transport products must be checked separately. The official account or same-day ticket page can be used for current prices, reservations and show sessions.
The walking area stops admission at 16:00 and is open about 09:00–17:00. If you want the International Circus or a free show, check the session after entry and arrange the animal-house route around its location.
Walking, food and animal safety
The full walking route can reach about 10,000 steps. Wear comfortable shoes and consider a stroller for children. Food options are limited and relatively expensive, so bring enough water and snacks. Takeaway delivery may be directed to the Yancheng Safari Park South Gate, but collection remains subject to entrance management.
Feeding must follow staff instructions. Bringing carrots, apples or cabbage does not mean every venue allows feeding, and some walking-area venues may prohibit it. In the deer area, keep the vehicle slow and watch for animals approaching the car and causing scratches.
