How to Visit
1

Make a reservation 7 days in advance

Reserve your slot via the WeChat mini-program '中大逸码通行' (Zhongda Yima Tongxing). Weekend slots are released at 8:00 PM, 7 days in advance — set an alarm and book immediately when they open.

Slots fill up within minutes — have your ID ready and act fast
2

Enter via the South Gate

Take Metro Line 8 to Zhongda Station (中大站), Exit A. The South Gate (南门) is a short walk away. Enter and find the open school motto lawn — a wide expanse of grass with the five-character校训 carved in stone.

Arrive at the gate 5 minutes before your reserved time slot
3

Walk the Central Axis — Yixian Road

Follow Yixian Road (逸仙路) north along the central axis. Key stops: Huai Shi Hall (怀士堂) — red brick and green tile, built 1917, where Sun Yat-sen delivered his famous speech; the Sun Yat-sen bronze statue facing north; Xing Xing Pavilion (惺亭) — octagonal pavilion commemorating three martyrs; and Martin Hall (马丁堂) — first permanent building, guarded by five stone lions.

The full central axis walk takes 45-60 minutes at a leisurely pace
4

Exit via the North Gate for Pearl River Views

End at the North Gate (北门) — the iconic archway is a favorite photo spot. Right outside is Zhongda Pier and the Pearl River embankment, perfect for a final view of the river and Guangzhou Tower in the distance.

Combine with a riverside walk along the Pearl River after your visit
Highlights
  • 怀士堂 (Huai Shi Hall) — 1917 red brick and green tile, Sun Yat-sen delivered landmark speech here
