Plan at a glance

Free island walk and a separate boat ticket

You can walk onto Daheihe Island from the bridge and explore its riverside path, market, and botanical garden free of charge. The Heilongjiang River cruise requires a separate ticket; the boat travels on the river and returns to its boarding point without landing on the opposite bank.

Time and ticket details

Allow about 1 hour for a quick island visit, or 2–3 hours if you want more of the paths, the market, and the river views. If the cruise is operating that day, buy a ticket or make a reservation according to the operator’s current rules; the sailing time is about 30–40 minutes and the adult fare is about RMB 50. Check the day’s schedule, price, and purchase method with the operator.

Choose your visit

The bridge and island paths

Enter from the bridge on the Tongjiang Road or Wangsu Street (王肃街) side. The paths connect the island market, botanical garden, and riverside park, so you can choose stops according to the areas open that day. The view across the river reaches Blagoveshchensk in Russia.

China–Russia border trade market

The China–Russia border trade market is the island’s main shopping stop, with Russian-goods stalls and border-trade products near the paths. Stall hours follow each operator’s daily arrangement, so browse and stop when something interests you.

Heilongjiang River cruise

The boat leaves from the pier near Xiajiangkou Hydrological Tower (下江口水文塔), at Wangsu Street (王肃街) and Ying'en Road (迎恩路), then returns to the same boarding point after a cruise on the main channel. It is a river-view experience and does not include landing on the opposite bank or an immigration trip; the exact route follows the day’s operation. If weather and onboard management allow, you may view the opposite-city skyline from the open deck, but deck access depends on that day's operating conditions.

Build your day

Quick island route: bridge to the market

Walk onto the island from the bridge, follow the public path to the China–Russia border trade market, stop briefly, and return to the bridge by the same route. This quick visit takes about 1 hour. If a section is temporarily closed, follow the signs back or use the indicated detour.

Longer island route: botanical garden and riverside park

After entering from the bridge, walk first to the botanical garden, then to the border trade market. Continue along the public island path to the riverside park for the view, and return to the bridge. Allow about 2–3 hours for a full stop; river visibility and sunset views depend on the weather and the evening lighting.

River cruise: buy the ticket, then return to the same pier

First confirm whether the boat is operating, along with the schedule and fare. Then go to the pier near Xiajiangkou Hydrological Tower (下江口水文塔), at Wangsu Street (王肃街) and Ying'en Road (迎恩路), and buy the ticket under the day’s rules. On board, use the deck only where access is permitted; after about 30–40 minutes, the boat returns to the same point and does not land on the opposite bank. You can continue with a Heihe city itinerary after leaving the pier.

Get there

Getting onto the island

Search for “Daheihe Island” in your navigation app, then use the bridge from the Tongjiang Road or Wangsu Street (王肃街) side. Heihe bus route 101 goes to Daheihe Island, and taxis are another option. Cars can drive onto the island, where several free parking areas are available.

Cruise pier and parking

The cruise pier is near Xiajiangkou Hydrological Tower (下江口水文塔), at Wangsu Street (王肃街) and Ying'en Road (迎恩路) in Aihui District. Navigate to this address when driving, and check the day’s signs for nearby parking and available spaces.

Know before you go

Route, weather, and return arrangements

The current Ctrip listing shows the cruise as temporarily suspended, and its restart date may change. Confirm that day’s operation, schedule, and fare before going to the pier. Wind, water level, and weather can also affect the route and deck access; walking visitors return via the bridge, while cruise passengers return to the original pier.

Border waters and photography

The cruise does not land on the opposite bank and cannot replace immigration procedures. Follow on-site signs on the island paths, at the pier, and on the boat; keep away from controlled facilities and do not cross barriers. Before using a drone, confirm the local border-management rules and on-site requirements.

Wind, insects, and shopping

The river can be windy, so bring a light windproof layer even in summer. Mosquitoes are common along the river in summer and autumn; bring repellent. Check the product origin and expiry date when buying Russian goods, and use the day’s posted prices for tickets, telescope rental, and onboard drinks.

Rental and camping facilities

Telescope rental on the boat is about RMB 20; snacks and drinks cost extra, with the day’s displayed prices taking priority. Drivers who want to camp can consider the island’s free vehicle campsite, but its toilets do not have hot water. Confirm that the campsite and its facilities are open before staying overnight.
