Plan at a glance

Three urban stops

Heilongjiang Park, Central Commercial Pedestrian Street, and Longbin Park work best as separate city stops. The western end of Central Street meets Mother Square, where you can continue along the river through Heilongjiang Park; Longbin Park is at 196 Longbin Road and is better treated as a separate visit. Use a live map to choose a bus, taxi, or walk between areas.

Tickets and daily rhythm

All three areas are free to enter. Check the two parks’ operating arrangements on the day, while shops along Central Street keep their own hours. The morning market usually runs from about 07:00 to 09:30, and the night market usually starts after 17:00; choose the area that fits the time you want to experience.

River landmarks and views

Heilongjiang Park follows the riverfront. The roughly 20-meter sculpture at Mother Square and Boundary Marker 192 are its main stops. The public path on the Chinese side looks across the Heilongjiang River towards Blagoveshchensk; visibility across the water and city lights depend on the weather and the evening’s conditions.

Morning market, bookshop, and night market

Central Street ends at Mother Square on the west and has a gateway at the east. In the morning, visit the Cultural Street morning market; in the afternoon, stop at Pushkin Bookstore (Xinhua Bookstore) or the street shops; after 17:00, return for the night market. The Russian Goods Street is on the western side, and product origins vary.

Pine paths and a quiet break

Longbin Park has pine woods, stone paths, and a lotus pond for an easy walk. The square is used by local residents in the evening. There are no commercial amusement facilities in the park, so plan it as a walk and rest stop rather than an amusement route.

Build your day

Short Central Street route: east gateway to the west

Enter through the gateway at the eastern end of Central Commercial Pedestrian Street and walk west to Russian Goods Street; this section takes about 30 minutes. From the western end, continue to Mother Square and the public path into Heilongjiang Park, or turn back towards the gateway.

Riverfront route: Mother Square and Boundary Marker 192

You can enter from Mother Square, Boundary Marker 192, or the park entrance near the Memorial Hall of Overseas Chinese Who Returned from Russia. If you start at Boundary Marker 192, follow the river path towards Mother Square and leave through the nearest exit; you can also walk in the reverse direction from a southern river entrance. Heilongjiang Park has several entrances. After leaving, you can reconnect with Wangsu Street (王肃街); if you need to return to your starting point, retrace the route.

Longbin Park: from the pines to the lotus pond

Enter near the main entrance at 196 Longbin Road. Follow the pine path to the lotus pond and then rest at the square. A quick walk takes about 30 minutes; allow 1–2 hours if you want to sit among the trees or watch evening activity at the square. Leave from the other side if convenient, or return by the same route.

Plan Central Street around the market hours

Make the Cultural Street morning market your first stop from 07:00 to 09:30. Leave the afternoon for the bookshop and street shops, then return after 17:00 for the night market and snacks. Between the morning market and the evening opening, you can visit the bookshop or browse the shops; each business keeps its own hours.

Get there

Addresses and entrances

Heilongjiang Park extends along the area around 9 Wangsu Street (王肃街) and has several entrances. Central Commercial Pedestrian Street is on Central Street; use its eastern gateway or Mother Square on the west as a walking start point. Longbin Park is at 196 Longbin Road; navigate to the park name and enter through the main gate.

Moving around the city and parking

Heilongjiang Park and Central Street connect around Mother Square; navigate separately to 196 Longbin Road for Longbin Park. Check the day’s map for bus transfers and walking distances between the three areas. Free parking spaces are available along Heilongjiang Park, and there is parking near Longbin Park; roadside spaces around Central Street are limited during the morning and night markets.

Know before you go

Market hours and checking products

Stalls and shops at the morning and night markets may change at short notice. Product origins vary, so check the origin and expiry date on each package before buying.

Riverside photography and weather

Mother Square, Boundary Marker 192, and the river path are public visitor areas. Follow the riverside signs and keep away from controlled facilities. Before using a drone, confirm the local border-management rules and on-site requirements. An evening walk by the river is possible, but sunset views, visibility across the water, and lighting depend on the weather and that night’s lighting arrangement.

Summer insects and food

Mosquitoes are common in Longbin Park in summer, especially around the pine paths and lotus pond after dark, so bring repellent. Lena Restaurant is at 419 Central Street; the morning and night markets also sell breakfast, snacks, and grilled food. Shops, stalls, and menus change, so choose based on what is open that day.
