Location, ticketing and opening hours
Feiyun Peak is the main summit of Luofu Mountain, at an elevation of about 1,296 metres. The Zhu Ming Cave main gate suits cableway-plus-hiking routes; the Nansi Temple or Huanglong Ancient Temple sides are for experienced hikers and night-hike routes.
Luofu Mountain entry costs CNY 54, or around CNY 43 online in advance. The cableway costs CNY 70 one way or CNY 120 return, and the shuttle costs CNY 6. The scenic area is generally open from 7:00 to 18:00; do not continue pushing for the summit after 15:00, and note that the cableway stops around 17:00.

2.5–3.5 hours: lower-effort summit route
Main Gate → Bailian Lake → shuttle → cableway uphill → Eagle Beak Rock → Haohan Slope → Feiyun Peak → cableway down. The cableway converts most of the ascent into a short ride, but walking and stairs remain between Eagle Beak Rock and the summit.
4–6 hours: hiking route
Main Gate → Lion Peak → Eagle Beak Rock → Haohan Slope, with 313 steps → Fen Shui Pass → Feiyun Peak. This uses stone steps and dirt paths with substantial climbing, and is suitable for regular mountain walkers.
Around 5.5–6 hours: night hike for sunrise
Start from Nansi Temple or Huanglong Ancient Temple, follow the mountain road or original hiking path to Feiyun Peak, and aim to arrive before about 5:30 for sunrise. This requires a torch, warm layers, companions and established mountain experience; it is not a casual last-minute alternative.

Cableway summit route
Zhu Ming Cave main gate → Bailian Lake → shuttle → cableway → Eagle Beak Rock → Haohan Slope → Feiyun Peak. Eagle Beak Rock is the main mountain-view stop before the continued ascent at Haohan Slope.
Hiking summit route
Main Gate → Lion Peak → Eagle Beak Rock → Haohan Slope → Fen Shui Pass → Feiyun Peak. Keep a steady pace uphill and reserve time for the descent and cableway rather than calculating only the time needed to reach the summit.
Summit stop and return
Feiyun Peak is the place for ridge, cloud-sea and sunrise views; if weather deteriorates, prioritise a safe descent. Return by cableway or the original trail. Knees work hard on the descent, making trekking poles and knee supports useful.
Get there
High-speed rail and bus
Take high-speed rail to Luofu Mountain Station, then bus 268 to the scenic-area gate, taking around 30 minutes. The Zhu Ming Cave main gate is the most practical start for the cableway and standard summit routes.
Driving
The Zhu Ming Cave parking area costs around CNY 20 per day, and arriving before 8:00 is recommended. Huanglong Ancient Temple and Nansi Temple trailheads are for visitors with a defined hiking plan, not for improvised route changes.
Know before you go
Descent timing and slip risk
The cableway stops around 17:00–17:30, and you should begin descending by about 15:00. Haohan Slope and rain-soaked stone steps can be slippery, so wear non-slip shoes and bring trekking poles and knee supports.
Warm layers, supplies and route discipline
The summit can be 8–10°C cooler than the base and can be windy, so bring a windproof outer layer. Carry around two litres of water, energy food and a power bank. Do not use unmanaged original routes or follow low-cost roadside guiding offers.
