Area, transport and opening pattern
Xunliao Bay Resort is in Huidong County, with several beaches and coastal stops spread along the shore. The Visitor Centre, Mozishi Park, Jiuming Yuhai and Tianhou Temple are practical anchors; they are too dispersed for a walking-only visit, so driving or hiring an e-bike is more useful.
Most beaches are free. Delta Island costs around CNY 118 including the speedboat, while watersports are paid separately. Most specific attractions operate around 8:00–18:00, while some free beaches remain accessible all day. July and August, as well as public holidays, are busier.

2–3 hours: easy coastal route
Mozishi Park → Jiuming Yuhai → Tianhou Temple. Start with the coastal rocks and sea views, continue to the coastal road and white-chapel area, then finish around Tianhou Temple for an evening walk and food.
Two-day, one-night first visit
On day one, arrive, visit Mozishi Park and Jiuming Yuhai, stay for sunset, then have seafood for dinner. On day two, visit Delta Island for snorkelling or views, then stop at Tianhou Temple before returning. Keeping the island on its own day avoids conflicts between boat timing and the coastal route.
Family tidal-flat route
Chisha Tidal Flat Park → Blue Bay Beach → Rose Chapel → seafood in the fishing village. Plan tidal-flat activity around low tide, and bring a small shovel, bucket and footwear suitable for wet ground.

Coastal photography route
Mozishi Park → Jiuming Yuhai → Tianhou Temple. Mozishi works for sea rocks and sunset, Jiuming Yuhai for the coastal road and white buildings, and Tianhou Temple for the evening street atmosphere.
Island combination route
Xunliao Bay accommodation area → Delta Island → Tianhou Temple. Prioritise the island in the morning, then return to the bay for a relaxed street and meal stop later in the day.
Family route
Chisha Tidal Flat Park → Blue Bay Beach → Rose Chapel → fishing village. Keep tidal-flat and beach activities separate so children are not outdoors in strong sun for too long.
Get there
High-speed rail and local movement
Take high-speed rail to Huidong Station, then a taxi for around 30–40 minutes, costing about CNY 80–100. The H8 bus takes around one hour and costs about CNY 10. Once in the bay, an e-bike rental costs about CNY 50–80 per day and is usually more useful than repeated taxis between dispersed stops.
Driving
The drive from Guangzhou or Shenzhen takes around 1.5–2.5 hours. Parking at individual sites costs about CNY 10–20 per visit, while some hotels offer free parking. A vehicle or e-bike is particularly helpful for families and two-day itineraries.
Know before you go
Tidal flats, seafood and accommodation
Do not use roadside solicitations for tidal-flat activities; use defined areas such as Chisha Tidal Flat Park and plan around low tide. Buy seafood at the port market or Qunyi Market morning market, drain excess water before weighing and agree processing prices before cooking.
Season and coast protection
April–June and September–November are generally more comfortable; July and August are busier and more expensive. Sea sun and mosquitoes are both strong, so activity before 8:00 or after 16:00 is more comfortable. Book accommodation around 15 days ahead in peak season.
