The former customs house and a city park
拉哈苏苏海关旧址 (the Laha Susu Customs House Historic Site) is inside 沿江公园 (Riverside Park), on the east side of the north end of 通江街 (Tongjiang Street). It is a historic building with indoor galleries. 俄罗斯文化公园 (Russian Cultural Park) is a free public space at the intersection of 友谊路 (Youyi Road) and 通江街 (Tongjiang Street). They have separate entrances, so navigate to and plan time for each place separately.
Hours at the former customs house
Admission to the former customs house is free, and no reservation is needed. It is open 08:30–11:30 and 14:00–17:00, and is closed on Friday afternoons. Russian Cultural Park is open all day; the customs house's lunch break and Friday closure do not apply to the park.

Laha Susu Customs House historic site
This red-brick customs building dates to 1905. Arched window lintels and dark wooden doors are distinctive exterior details. Four themed galleries display items such as the Customs Dragon postage stamp, account books, and customs declarations, offering an introduction to the history of trade through Tongjiang Port.
Russian Cultural Park
The park centers on Matryoshka Square and also has colorful wooden houses, a bell tower, a windmill, and sculptures. It is small and works well for a walk before or after the former customs house. Evening markets and performances are occasional events, not fixed daily activities.
Choose a history visit or an easy walk
If you are interested in customs history and architecture, make the former customs house your main stop. For a relaxed walk, visit Matryoshka Square and the surrounding buildings. Riverside Park connects the historic site with the public river path, and you can shorten the walk to suit your group.

A 30-minute stop at the former customs house
Check the day's opening hours before finding the entrance inside Riverside Park. If time is limited, see the exterior and the exhibits near the entrance. The house is closed on Friday afternoons; if it is closed for lunch, visit Russian Cultural Park rather than waiting for the museum to reopen.
A one-to-two-hour visit to the house and riverfront
Visit the former customs house during its opening hours. Follow the four galleries to see the stamps, account books, and trade materials, then walk along the Riverside Park path for views of the Heilongjiang River. During the museum's lunch break or an unexpected closure, the public riverside path remains a separate option.
Add Russian Cultural Park
Visit Matryoshka Square and the park paths first, then walk or take a short ride to the former customs house. If arriving in the afternoon, check whether it is Friday. Join an event if one is taking place; the park walk is still worthwhile if there is no market or performance.
Friday afternoons and lunch breaks
The former customs house is closed on Friday afternoons, while the park remains open. On other weekdays, if you arrive during the lunch break, spend the time at Russian Cultural Park or the public riverside path, then return after 14:00 if the house is open.

Bus and taxi
Navigate to “拉哈苏苏海关旧址 (Laha Susu Customs House Historic Site)” or “俄罗斯文化公园 (Russian Cultural Park),” entering each as a separate destination. Bus 3 runs toward 三江口 (Sanjiangkou); get off at a stop near 沿江公园 (Riverside Park) and walk to the customs house. A short taxi ride within Tongjiang is another option.
Parking and walking
The former customs house is inside 沿江公园 (Riverside Park), where a stone marker identifies the park entrance. 俄罗斯文化公园 (Russian Cultural Park) has an entrance arch. Follow on-site signs for parking and fees, and do not block roads. Allow time to walk or travel between the two locations.

Closures, galleries, and the riverbank
The former customs house is closed on Friday afternoons and from 11:30 to 14:00 for lunch. Plan your indoor visit around both closures. Along the river, stay on public paths and do not cross barriers or enter managed dock areas.
Events, photography, and food
The red-brick entrance and arched windows at the historic site are good details to photograph. At Russian Cultural Park, Matryoshka Square and the colorful wooden houses work well for wider views. Markets, performances, and night lighting are not fixed; return to town for stewed fish or Northeastern-style dishes, and confirm restaurant hours before going.
