Taishan’s overseas Chinese history
Taishan Overseas Chinese Culture Museum is in the southern new district of Taicheng. It is a comprehensive museum on Taishan’s overseas Chinese history, modern transport, wartime memory and urban development. Entry is free.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:30, and is closed on Mondays. Allow 2–3 hours.

Short route or full floor-by-floor visit
For a shorter visit, start at the second-floor entrance and focus on the overseas Chinese history gallery, the Xinning Railway setting and Flying Tigers displays, then finish at the first-floor cultural shop. Allow 1–1.5 hours.
For a full first visit, allow 2–3 hours. Visit the first and second galleries on the second floor, the overseas Chinese and national-history exhibitions on the third floor, then the city-planning model and related galleries on the upper floors.

History, reconstructed settings and city development
Begin on the second floor with overseas Chinese history and migration context, then move through immersive settings such as the Xinning Railway and Guanghai Wharf. Continue to the third floor for the Flying Tigers and wartime exhibitions, then move to the upper floors for the city model and interactive displays.
Leave the screening room, reading area and cultural shop until the end. Families may want to spend longer around the city model and interactive areas.

Convenient rail and city access
Drive to Taishan Overseas Chinese Culture Museum. Free open-air parking is available in front of the museum, with underground parking also available. From Taishan Railway Station, a taxi ride takes around 15 minutes.
By public transport, take bus 1, 2 or 3 from Taishan Railway Station to Taishan Coach Station, then walk around 10 minutes.
Know before you go
Practical museum planning
The museum is closed on Mondays, so confirm holiday opening arrangements before travelling. The route covers several floors, so wear comfortable flat shoes and avoid arriving shortly before closing.
Stamp points are available at the second-floor service desk and first-floor cultural shop. After the museum, the historic streets around Zhongshan Road and Xianqian Road are a practical next stop for a walk.
