Chengziya Ruins Museum is about 1 kilometre west of the Longshan Subdistrict office in Zhangqiu District. Admission is free; register with a valid ID card. It is open 09:00–17:00 Tuesday–Sunday, with last entry at 16:00, and closed on Mondays. The remote location makes a half-day plan practical.

Longshan Culture galleries
The “Star of Civilization” gallery is the museum’s main focus. “Dawn of Longshan,” “Archaeological Holy Land,” and “Tracing Jinan’s Roots” add prehistoric life, the history of archaeology, and local culture. Prioritize the eggshell black-pottery goblet, pottery gui, large stone millstone, and stone grinding stick.
Originals and reproductions
The eggshell black-pottery goblet in the museum is a reproduction; the original is at Shandong Museum. The reproduction still demonstrates the thin-wall pottery technique. The West City Wall Conservation Display and outdoor site show rammed-earth layers, city-wall remains, and the North Gate ruins, where the ground may be uneven.

Enter the main museum and start with the first-floor “Star of Civilization” and “Archaeological Holy Land” galleries, then take a short walk in the outdoor ruins park. With limited time, prioritize the museum’s key objects and leave food and other sites for the return journey.

Follow the sequence of the entrance hall, “Dawn of Longshan,” “Star of Civilization,” “Archaeological Holy Land,” and “Tracing Jinan’s Roots,” then go outside to the West City Wall and North Gate ruins. Keep the indoor and outdoor sections separate; shorten the outdoor section in rain or high heat.

Arrival and local transport
Driving is the easiest option, and the museum has free parking. By public transport, take K913 from Jinan Station or K902 from Jinan East Station to Zhangqiu Bus Terminal, transfer to a rural bus toward Longshan, and walk about 1 kilometre at the end. Check the day’s bus schedule before setting out.
Navigate directly to Chengziya Ruins Museum; a large pottery sculpture marks the entrance. Commercial facilities are limited nearby, so plan food in Zhangqiu or along the return route.

Practical considerations
The museum closes on Mondays and stops entry at 16:00, while the remote transport route also requires an advance return plan. The museum is modest in size and educational in focus, so it suits visitors arriving with a clear interest in Longshan culture.
The outdoor ruins have uneven ground, especially after rain. Zhangqiu District Museum and Dongpingling City Ruins can be linked as suburban stops, but calculate the driving time and opening hours for each separately.
