Safari route and walking area
The east gate is practical for starting with the train safari route, while the west gate gives easier access to the panda house and Tiger Valley. A private-car safari and the train route may overlap, but visitors cannot get out during the drive. If you want to set your own pace, give the walking area enough time.
Pandas, big cats, and family activities
The panda house, Tiger Valley, and walking-area animal houses are the priority stops for a first visit. Families can choose the train or walking-area sightseeing car according to the children’s energy, but the sightseeing car and some experiences may cost extra; confirm what the day’s ticket includes.

East-gate safari-first route
Enter through the east gate and take the train through the safari area first, then walk to other animal houses and use the sightseeing car for longer transfers if useful. Stay inside the vehicle during the safari route; do not get out to take photos or feed animals. Visit the walking area afterwards.
West-gate walking-first route
Enter through the west gate and start with the panda house and Tiger Valley, then move through the walking area using the park map. If the sightseeing car is running that day, use it as a long-distance connection. Night sessions, circus shows, and rides follow the day’s timetable.
Get there
Arrival and local transport
The park is in Zhangqiu, where public transport and return ride-hailing can take time, so driving is more convenient. Select the east or west gate before setting navigation; do not search only for “Jinan Zoo,” because the two attractions are in different places and have different park formats.
Walking distances inside the park are long. In summer, bring water, sun protection, and light shoes. Private vehicles must stay on the designated safari roads, and parking and entrance procedures follow the day’s directions.

Practical considerations
Do not feed animals with personal food. Summer weekend night sessions, circus times, and some equipment schedules can change, so treat them as seasonal or date-specific activities rather than daily fixed shows; the ticket and timetable on site take priority.
The train and walking-area sightseeing car have different inclusion rules, so check before buying a ticket or package. The park is large and weather affects comfort; older visitors and young children should break up long walks with rest stops.
